Hi guys,

Sorry I know this has been talked about at length but my search function doesn't work!

I'd like some info on car hire and insurance - car hire through tour operator or book seperately through somewhere like airnet?

I've priced up on First Choice site to upgrade to 7 seater van which is 120 ugrade, then I'd have my own insurance which was 75 last year from natwest, think they still do this. Any idea how much the airport fees would be?

Airnet is 375 all inclusive.

So looking at that going with first choice seems the cheapest, or am I missing something big out?

Cheers,

Lynn

Is First Choice per person (the cost of the car hire) or per car? i.e. does each passenger pay towards the initial cost of the car?

I know on Virgin there is a sliding scale and them ore people in your party the bigger the car so they all do contribute, I pay Virgins insurance but its rather expensive, personally i think the insurance pays the rental cost and it isnt actually free!

when you upgrade the car on first choice the holiday total only goes up by 120, so it must be per car. It did seem quite cheap but of course its without insurance. Virgin's equivalent upgrade was 190 without insurance.

Does anyone know what they charge at the airport for tax/fees/fuel? I can't remember what we paid last time, but i think it was around 50 pounds?

Lynn
