Having never booked my own car before I find myself pretty petrified!! Any good deals out there at the minute, or companies you recommend / should avoid? Am looking for December 22nd - 30th. Thanks!

Not heard of any to really avoid, all companies get the odd problem but not really any major problems usually with renting cars, apart from being talked into things at the desk on arrival that are not needed but thats your responsibility to say no.

Just a small one is fine - we will be driving my parents around a couple of days, but don't need to worry about luggage space for 4 of us, as have booked them on magic express!!!!!

Carhire3000.com £143.55 less 7% Quidco = £133.05

Hertz £149.90 less 10% Quidco = £134.91 or using AA code brings it down to 134.91 GBP then possibly 10% Quidco(not always paid when using codes) =£121.42

If you don't want to mess about with codes and cashback then usrentacar.co.uk £137 or £167 with extra driver and tank of gas.

Virgin atlantic or holidays have an offer on if you book before 27th August for a free extra driver at £144. Not sure if that would track thru Quidco for 3% with Virgin holidays, doubt it.

Sorry Wayne, will have a look around but off the top of your head are these also the best companies for large cars . . . have decided to have mercy on the rest of the family and get a 6-seater!!

Don't get 6 seaters so either 7 or 8 seaters.

8 seater Chevrolet Tahoe or similar with Hertz £284.51 less 10% Quidco (+ AA code if you can use both)
Or 7 seater Kia Sedona or similar £247.47 Less Quidco + less AA code

Netflights.com 7 seater Dodge Caravan (or similar) £235.40 less 5% Quidco

Usrentacar.co.uk £235 7 seater minivan, £270 with extra driver and tank of gas.
