car hire help please

we are going out on 19th oct and fly home 2nd nov and need a 4x4 if possible

we normally book with usrentacar but seem expensive this year

we also go for the highest insurance as we dont have a credit card

any deals to be had??

USrentacar would be £338, best I can see is AutoEurope who I have booked with for August, they are quoting £331 thru Quidco less 8.5% = £303. £35 saving not bad.

A good deal if you go for All inclusive instead of Gold/Platinum is the next size up (Std SUV Grand Cherokee) Netflights £294 - 5% = £279, great price for this size SUV but they want about £133 to add Platinum (only about £50 for the intermediate SUV)

like doing the best insurance as we dont have a credit card to leave with them so it makes life a bit easier when we land, ok its expensive but less hassle for us

We are booking ours with Virgin Holidays but it isnt cheap - but being able to get to the car without the hassle as soon as you get to the airport is worth the extra payment with Alamo.

you can do that with most of these companies but alot cheaper, you can book with say usrentacar and pick alamo and pick up at the same desk you would with virgin but prob cheaper!

VH are just agents exactly like Autoeurope, USrentacar etc, difference is Virgin sells everything, these other companies specialise in just cars, you pick up the same cars.
VH for our dates in August(7 seater minivan) £532.00, AutoEurope £353

Yeah but we are like you and dont use credit cards - havent had a problem with Virgin holidays at all

Also have a look at the deals going on the site of Usacarsrental company as I have personally used them many times and their services are quite reasonably priced. They also have a good variety of cars to choose from.
