Car Hire from LAX

Is there any car hire firm that lets you choose which car you have rather than just handing you a key. I know Alamo in Orlando just say pick one from that categorie.

We just returned home from our vacation. We had flown into LAX and used National to rent our car. I had picked an SUV. They told us to go down to the SUV aisle and pick any one from that aisle. There were many selections: Toyota Highlander, Jeep Cherokee, and others. We picked the Jeep Cherokee because it seemed to the least dirty out of them all. I guess that's my biggest gripe with National -- everytime we rent from them, the vehicle is always filthy.
