im takeing a friend along on the trip to wdw.its about a 8-10 hour drive to florida.does anybody know any games or activities we can do so we wont drive my parents crazy?
thank you:crazy:

My kids love playing games in the car, even when we aren't going to WDW.

Guess game: One person thinks of a person and the other person have to ask questions till they get the answer.
Examples: real or cartoon, male or female, adult or child, do I know this person. Is this person in movies, on tv, etc.

We also play punchbuggy looking for VW bugs, but we add PT cruisers, Hummers and one other car I can't remember now. I'll edit later when I remember. Bugs are 1 pt, PT cruisers 2, Hummers 3 and the other car is 5 (we have yet to see one).

I'll have to think, because I know we have more games. I will post later.

We play a version of bingo. You get one point for any bingo parlor you see, one point for hay (but it cannot be touching the ground, so on a truck or in a loft or something), one point for the old style of VW Bugs and VW Vans (but they have to be the old ones). You can basically come up with your own list of acceptable bingo's. My DH and I are cut throat at this one. Bingo winning is a serious source of bragging rights.

Another game we play is running through the alphabet. You use road side signs. For instance if you saw a one way sign and you were looking for a you would yell out way, a. That would make the way word dead on that sign so someone looking for a y can't use it. We work our way through the alphabet. J's Q's and Z's are the tricky ones.

Finally for our next trip we bough another version of bingo. It is a travel form we purchased at heartsong http://www.hearthsong.com/hearthsong/product.do?section_id=0&bc=1005&pgc=1123

Gee, do you have a cb or portable dvd player. Its the only thing that keeps us parents sane. How about buying a mad libs book. You fill in the blanks to make up stories. Good luck and have a great trip.:D

Talk your parents into buying you each Gameboy Advanced. :)

How about coloring books? Honestly - a good, high quality coloring book, or one of those pattern books, and some new magic markers/colored pencils. We find the most beautiful coloring books in the little specialty toy shops found in tourist areas in most towns. Flax Art used to have them on their website too.

Yes and No/ Magic pen books are great too - we love to play the battleship ones.

How about a set of magnetic checkers, chess, or score-four (not sure if that's the right name!) ?

We have a game that the whole family plays. We all play, because once the kids start, my husband and I can't stop ourselves. The 13 and 15 year old like it best and play it with their friends all the time. Goes like this ...... First person starts out with "I am going on a picnic and I am going to take ..... apples (or any word that starts with A)." The next person says "I am going on a picnic and I am going to take apples and ...... beer (or any word that starts with B)". Next person does "C", etc., etc. The complexity of the game is that you have to remember each and every item that each person has stated, as well as come up with a new item that fits the "theme" of the game. By the end of the game, you are usually in fits of laughter from the crazy things that people come up with and the complexity of the memory task. We change each round to other things like: I'm going to Disney World and I'm going to pack ........ or I'm going to the beach and I'm going to take ....... Trust me, you can really chew up some time with this game and it's fun. For a 40+ something like me, it is good to find out that I still have a good memory, in spite of the fact that my kids try to convince me otherwise!

We love those cheap hand held games. I have Yahtzee and tetris.
These are great and cost $7-10. Adults and kids can play with them. I've used mine so much waiting for different things. You can even throw them in your purse. Love them!!

Hiya! I am 13, but my friends and I love making up different versions to those hand games that u used to play when u were lil. Our favorite one is our version of CiCi my playmate...wanna hear?

Rhombus my dinner, come out and cook yourself, and bring your rumpsteak 3! climb up my cooking grill! Slide down my sauce pan, into my gravy dish, and i'll be eating you, forever more, more mmmmmmmore! YUM!

lol we were so hungy and hyper at the same time! if you've never heard CiCi my playmate, here's how it goes:

CiCi my playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three! Climb up my apple tree! Slide down my rainbow, into my cellar door, and we'll be jolly friends, forever more, more, mmmmmore!

lol yes, call us crazy but it brought us so many laughs

My family plays this game as well, with one twist. When playing with new people you do not give them the rule that it must follow alphabetically and if they choose something that does not begin with the right letter, they can't go on the "trip". It's fun for them to try to figure out the "catch".

I printed out Disney word searches, sacrambles and mazes for the kids and made it into a contest. The first one finished got a dollar. They really enjoyed this and they were sorry I didn't have any left for the ride home. Here is the kink the pages I used.

Enjoy. I was going to give them Disney Dollars but mine are also teens and thought they would enjoy the dollar more.

There was a family behind us on the Mears bus playing this game and by the time they got to the letter K, DW and I were ready to jump out of the window. I would not recommend playing this game around anyone else that is not playing with you.
