We have a game that the whole family plays. We all play, because once the kids start, my husband and I can't stop ourselves. The 13 and 15 year old like it best and play it with their friends all the time. Goes like this ...... First person starts out with "I am going on a picnic and I am going to take ..... apples (or any word that starts with A)." The next person says "I am going on a picnic and I am going to take apples and ...... beer (or any word that starts with B)". Next person does "C", etc., etc. The complexity of the game is that you have to remember each and every item that each person has stated, as well as come up with a new item that fits the "theme" of the game. By the end of the game, you are usually in fits of laughter from the crazy things that people come up with and the complexity of the memory task. We change each round to other things like: I'm going to Disney World and I'm going to pack ........ or I'm going to the beach and I'm going to take ....... Trust me, you can really chew up some time with this game and it's fun. For a 40+ something like me, it is good to find out that I still have a good memory, in spite of the fact that my kids try to convince me otherwise!
