Can anyone offer some clarification as to what companies are represented there and if rentals can be arranged ahead of time?

I will need a car to cover our days outside the world (3). In all likelihood, I will arrange a rental from MCO for our entire stayas it figures to be far less per day in the end; kind of like buying a 10 day hopper verses a 3 day.

I am staying onsite and have access to ME but am concerned about losing touring time not to mention having to wait hours to see our luggage upon arrival since we aren't visiting a park that day.

The CCC handles National/Alamo, the location designation is ORLR72.
I have never rented from that location, but some say they will pick you up and drop you off at your resort. You can also rent from Alamo at the Dolphin Hotel, (ORLR74) but no pick-up and drop off.
There are several other car rental companies located at the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd near DTD.
In general it is cheaper to rent at the airport, but I have seen times when it has been cheaper to pick up the car at the Dolphin and drop off at the airport.
And it can be convenient if only renting for a day or two.

Yes, there is a shuttle to resorts, but you must arrange at least an hour ahead of time.

Hertz is also on property at SOG and will come pick you up and drop you off at your resort if you want to explore that option. Just make the pickup time a day or so ahead and they will be there. Good luck.
