Hi All,

DD and I will be renting a car from the Car Care Center at driving over to the port to watch the Dream sail. Has anyone driven that route, and can give me an idea of how busy the CCC is, and how the drive is re time/traffic etc? I want to pick up the car as late as possible and still arrive Jetty Park with 15 minutes or so before the Dream sails by.

Do you think 1.5 hours is enough time to get through the lines/paperwork and drive to the port? I'm assuming the CCC isn't as busy as the airport, but the shuttle has me worried. Do we make a bunch of pickups and drop-offs, or does it take me straight to the CCC?

My day is open, so I can pick the car up whenever, but the later I get it the later I can turn it in three days later, which is probably just as important as getting to the port on time.

Thanks if you can give any advice. I've been on a bus from WDW to the port but I wasn't paying any attention to ride times. And truthfully, sometimes it seems to take as much time getting off Disney property as it does to arrive wherever we're going, but maybe that's my bad navigating. :-)

Thanks!

It takes a good hour to get over to the coast if not longer. You could run into traffic plus getting to the park along side the water way.

I could not believe how many people are in the park watching the cruise ships leave port. It is a very popular thing to do.

I agree. It's very close to 1.5 hours from Disney to Jetty Park. Recommend you allow for 2 hours after you already have your rental car. TOLL 417 to TOLL 528 is usually quicker than TOLL 528 all the way and keep in mind that unless you have a SunPass transponder, you have to stop for at least 3 toll plazas.

Check the cruise schedules for Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Norwegian because you might catch 3 other ships headed out too!

We went to Jetty Park to watch the Dream sail last November. Couldn't tell you how long from the CCC though. There are plenty of people at the park watching the ships sail out, but finding a place to park is easy, we were even able to pull up to the shore line. Watched three ships sail out, I know the Dream was one of them and NCL and RCCL were the cruise lines of the other two. It wasn't Freedom because we sailed on her the next day.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'd better get the rental a little bit earlier than I'd planned. Better safe than sorry - imagine going to all the trouble and arriving too late, LOL!

OK, hopefully it won't take long at the Car Care Center and we can be on our way fairly quickly.

Thanks again. I appreciate the help.
