Capt'n Kids buffet

When we went in 2004, my kids loved Capt'n Kids restaurant.
When we went in 2005, it was pretty gross.

Can you tell me how it is now?
Worth going to?

They remember getting 'colored Sprite' and a yummy buffet, and want to go. But I remember it being pretty nasty.

Anyone been there lately?

Last time we went it was gross. We won't go back, it was disgusting. Old food on the buffet, my salad lettuce was slimy....just yucky!!

Went in 2006 I believe and goodness it's gross in there.
And they upped the price to $8.25, too!

Not worth it. I'd say you're better off using that money for Denny's.

Seriously, though...if you want a good meal outside the Park...there are plenty of other places with good food! There's Mimi's and IHOP and all the new restaurants in Anaheim Garden Walk.

We walked in there last year on our way to IHOP and the buffet looked horrible. Who would eat that? Makes me kind of cringe just thinking about it right now.

I honestly don't know how that place stays in business! They must survive on first time customers because I don't know of anyone who's gone twice! Once was one time too many for me!

LOL, I wish I would have asked before going, believe me!! We just went last week and it was nasty. Most everything looked like it had been out for a long time. I think we were lucky that none of us got sick! And the service was awful!

Well we went on our 2nd night in town in December. It was pretty bad with no taste. I even (jokingly) threatened that if they our kids 12,12,15 were bad the remainder of the trip i would take them back instead of Mimi's. Boy were they ever well behaved.

DH and DS were insistent that they wanted to go to the buffet last year during our trip, so we went just as they were switching to lunch.

In my opinion, the food was typical of any high school cafeteria. Large amounts, but not much flavor.

DH and DS had buffet - I ordered off the menu.

My turkey club sandwich and french fries was delicious!! Very good, and had an excellent presentation.

Dh and DS were disappointed with the buffet, and left still a bit hungry (even after I shared my sandwich).

We won't be going back. (Unless I decide to try the sandwich again - to go.)

I know!!!!! It's just so yucky.......I really wished we had asked here first but we thought it had to be good because otherwise it wouldn't still be there. Obviously we were completely mistaken.

I've never had the buffet but the stuff on the menu isn't so bad. Typical family restaurant quality. Are there better places to eat in the area? Absolutely. But if you ever find yourself having to eat there, just don't do the buffet.
