My family has reservations at both restaurants for when we go in Late April/Early May and was wondering what everyone's opinions of them are. When we visit WDW we generally just eat CS and maybe 1 TS because we usually have only 3-4 days there but this time we have 5 so we decided to get 2 TS. We generally don't eat expensive food so you wont see us chewing out a place like Tony's because Tutto Italia is better :rotfl: We will be paying out of pocket so we hope for some decent service, have heard some of the horror stories on DDP :scared:

One of the members of our party (15 y/o) is pretty picky with food and is also allergic to peanuts which we told the CM on the phone but we'll have to call back once we get there. He generally doesn't like lots of vegetables and whatnot mixed through his food and picks through stuff if it looks a bit odd :P Not sure what Teppan Edo serves their food with but i've heard stories about picky eaters being fine there so we're more worried about the nut allergies. Also does anyone know if at Captain's Grille would allow switching out side items such as switching beans w/ mashed potatos?

Thanks in Advance :)

I've eaten at both restuarant but I don't have food allergies so I really never thought much about having to switch items. sorry. I will say I think the Captian's grille in the YC is one of disney best kept secrets. I've never seen it crowded, I've always been able to walk up and get seated and the food is been very good. Personally the waitstaff was very friendly and accomadating, I would not have a problem asking about switching items. nut allergies are pretty common so I can't believe that they never heard that request. We also like Teppan Edo but they may cook items in Peanut oil so that may be an issue you'd want to check out.

You should have no problems at either place. Make sure they know about the peanut allergy. They will go out of their way to make you happy. Captain Grille is great. We love eating there breakfast, lunch or dinner, food is always good.
