Made all my adr's for September and am going to try the Captains Grill. Does anyone have a review or pictures for here?

My wife and I think it is a hidden gem. It is (by far), our favorite "cool off and relax" lunch spot when we are at Epcot or the Studios. I have NEVER seen it crowded at lunch, and very rarely at dinner. The atmosphere mirrors the Yacht/Beach Club in general: quiet, understated elegance. The food (lunch and dinner) is consistently good to excellent, too...neither of us have ever been disappointed in our 10+ meals there (tied with Kona Cafe as our most-visited WDW restaurant).

For a day when you will be at Epcot or the Studios, go for it!

PS- I have loads of photos, but none are currently accessible online. Maybe I'll upload a couple of them.

I have to agree with you about Kona, it is a hidden gem, and also our most visited restaurant.

We ate dinner there in May. Dh had the rock shrimp app. I ordered the crab cake app. I tasted the crab cake. It was HORRID! I asked dh to taste it. He promptly said, its horrible...send it back.

Our server was wonderful, so friendly and she got me the rock shrimp app instead.

I had a salad which was o.k.

For the meal we both ordered the steaks. Dh was cooked as ordered but not great he said. Mine was overdone and some of the mashed potatoes were cold. I am surmising because I had to reorder the app.

For dessert I cant remember what we had, I think the gelato.

We were not impressed by the food, but the service was good. We are in no hurry to go back. I did see someones pork chop as we were walking out. (I was debating about getting this). It really didnt look appetizing at all. Just a huge ole hunk of meat on the plate etc. Since it was barely eaten, I dont think the guy who ordered it liked it either.

I might be in the minority here, I do read of others who like it. We were staying at the Yacht Club. anyway. so I am glad we didnt go out of our way to get there.

We also did Cape May Buffet and that is where we are going again in December.
