I thought that Captain Hans M. (I would mangle his last name for sure) was the first captain that DCL brought onboard and that he oversaw the building of the Magic. He is no longer with DCL. He was the captain of the Magic at least until January 2002.tvguy said:Yeah, he truly is a captain, not a host. But he must know his stuff because he is the senior captain, and oversaw the designing and building of both ships.

We had only had captain Hans until our summer '03 cruise. In '99 the cruise director I beleive was Rick (I think that was his name -mmouse / Barb do you remember). I think that he transfered to the Wonder after she joined the fleet, and is now elsewhere. Then the next couple of cruises the cruise director was a pretty tall guy (I think he's on the DVD - but it's been a long time since I've watched it (I'm so ashamednatsmom125 said:Capt Hans Matabour(not sure of spelling, but pronounced MAT A BORE), was the Captain on our first 2 or 3 Magic cruises. As Jackie was our cruise director for all but 2 of our cruises and we have done 6.
