Can someone please direct me to a pic of Captain Tom? I think he's known as the handsome captain, so I want to take a peek. ;)

Geez, I'm sort of glad he didn't captain my repo cruise or I would have been running around for two weeks singing "Ground control to Captain Tom...Take your protein pills and put your helmet on..."

Just What I needed..Thanks, it was a rough day... :teeth:

Yeah, he truly is a captain, not a host. But he must know his stuff because he is the senior captain, and oversaw the designing and building of both ships.

Is that Captain Thord? I thought that someone told us he was the original captain.

Don't have a picture of Captain Tom, but that's Captain Thord with Andy and Hazel in Verandah Man's. And Captain Tom is the senior captain.

Is Tom known as the handsome captain I've heard tell of? Or maybe it's another one?? I think it was Tom, though. I have to check out Andy's photo again.

Captain Tom is the head captain of both the Wonder and that Magic. He did indeed captain the Magic over from Italy, not sure about the Wonder, but I would think so. He is a super nice guy too. I got a map of Disney's cruise routes signed by him and Capt Mickey for my Dad for Christmas! My dad loved it.

Here is a picture of Captain Tom, myself, my dear loving husband, and my dear loving son on our 12/27/03-1/3/04 New Years cruise. We renewed our wedding vows on that cruise.

That's him! We've had Captain Tom twice and Captain Thord once. I heard Captain Tom will be on the Repo in August

I thought that Captain Hans M. (I would mangle his last name for sure) was the first captain that DCL brought onboard and that he oversaw the building of the Magic. He is no longer with DCL. He was the captain of the Magic at least until January 2002.

Not according to the video "The Making Of The Magic" that they show on board as part of the Disney Navigators series. They show Captain Tom in Italy while the ship was being built, showed him on the bridge for the trial runs..... etc.
I've only been on the Magic once and had Captain Tom. I have hear of Captain Thord and Captain Henry on the boards, but never heard of a Captain Hans.

Captain Henry is my favorite....Capt Tom is a fantastic captain, but compared to the personaliites of the other captains (who are great Captains as well), he is a bit cold.

I remember Captain Tom, from our first crusie in'98 on the Magic and then when we sailed on the Wonder in 2001, we had him again.****** He seemed pleased that we had cruised on both ships in such a short time...guess he's estatic with all the repeat cruisers these days :cool1: ****

My question is how many captains are there and what is the rotation schedule like? We have sailed with Captains Tom, Henry, Hans, and Thord

Capt Hans Matabour(not sure of spelling, but pronounced MAT A BORE), was the Captain on our first 2 or 3 Magic cruises. As Jackie was our cruise director for all but 2 of our cruises and we have done 6.

Phyllis

I'm with you JRabbit. My first 3 cruises on the Magic were all with Captain Hans. During the Navigator series, he would always tell how he helped "build" the ship. I haven't seen the video "The Making of the Magic" that is always on the Travel Channel in a while but I thought it had Captain Hans on it. Have to say I liked Captain Hans better than Captain Thord. (Haven't sailed with Captain Tom yet.)

We had only had captain Hans until our summer '03 cruise. In '99 the cruise director I beleive was Rick (I think that was his name -mmouse / Barb do you remember). I think that he transfered to the Wonder after she joined the fleet, and is now elsewhere. Then the next couple of cruises the cruise director was a pretty tall guy (I think he's on the DVD - but it's been a long time since I've watched it (I'm so ashamed :guilty: ) and Jackie was his assistant (learning the ropes to take his place :confused3 which she has done)

I sure do hope that Captain Tom will be on the Sugust repo cruise. He is my favorite one. But I think that is because I've had him 6 out of 8 cruises. And he does remember me from cruise to cruise.

Now I wonder who will be the cruise director...Jacque I hope.

Jacque left the Magic to work on the Wonder sometime in 2003. I haven't seen her name mentioned lately. Rachel and her assistant Brent I think it is have been on the ship for a while.
