I was looking through the cruise gifts to get my order in before we sail next week, and I could have sworn there used to be a Mickey plush there, that would be waiting in the room for my son when we arrive. He sleeps every night with his big Mickey plush and he's going to have to leave it home for this trip.

Was I imagining things, or did they used to have one available at one time?

Yes, I've ordered one. I have not looked for it in the gift section for a while, but you can always get one in the gift shop. Not the same as opening the door, and having it there, but at least he can have one.

Have fun!! We are sailing in less than two weeks too! Cross your fingers! The gulf looks calm!

I bought sailor Mickeys from a Disney Store outlet on sale last year. When we went on our cruise in March I asked our concierge host to put them in our room before we got there. I also made two cards that said "welcome aboard (sons names), your pal Mickey Mouse). I had to really practice the letters to get the signature right!

If the concierge didn't have time to do it, my plan B was to go the room myself and place them before I brought my kids into the room. My kids are young enough that they wouldn't question me going to the "bathroom" with my carryon case. :)

So you could always try that!

We are doing the same thing as ILovePixieDust did.

It is a lot less expensive than the gift shops and you can personalize it.

LOL!! I always do that! I run to the cabin and put stuff out, and my husband stalls with the kids for me!

OP - Another option is shipping a box to the port. It may not be there when you get to your cabin, but your little guy can open the box when it arrives. My boxes have gotten to the room as late as 5pm.

I'm running short on time.. do you know if I can order it from the Disney Store online and then have it shipped right to the ship for us? Our cruise leaves next Sat. 8/2:banana:

There is a whole packing slip you need to follow with housekeeping, including listing the contents on the outside of the package. I am not sure if the site would do that for you.

Can you run to the disney store and buy one yourself? OR--- even ship his favorite one (argh! Then he would be without if for a week).

My suggestion (sorry - I don't know your situation - trying to help). I would go to a local disney store, buy one, and ship it to the port. There is guidelines on this site how to ship to the port (how to label, etc…).

The box would be delivered to your room. There is a chance it would be there when you got there, if not I received boxes as late at 5…

another option. When the store onboard opens, run and buy one. Put it on the pillow, and when you and your son return to the room after sail way or dinner, He will see it.

Don't stress…. you'll figure it out!!!

I originally wanted to take this cruise, but we are on the 8/3 Dream. I would have brought one for you!!!

You are so sweet, Donna! I am not at all stressed out. it would have been something nice to do. I might try to get one and surprise him with it before the cruise. I'd just have to figure out how to get to the Disney store without him since he's on summer break.

It isn't the sort of thing that will cause a meltdown if he doesn't have his Mickey. He has slept without him before and he's been just fine. I just figured it would be a fun surprise and I was bummed that they didn't have them on the pre-cruise order list anymore.

Thanks, everyone, for your helpful suggestions!

They have one at the Disney Store online. Here is the link:
