Is there new information on an opening date?

Calendar still shows TBD on the re-open date for HISTA.

There isnt a set opening date as of yet. They are still doing a bunch of testing on it. They had a cast member test on Friday to see what people though of the moving floor (Which adds effect), and they said it will still be a few more weeks before any opening day will appear. So no date has been set yet. They arnt even sure if Honey I Shrunk the Audience will return after Captain EO has made its full run.

Honestly I hope they keep Captain EO around for awhile. As cute as HISTA is, it is super out dated and it would be nice to have a good change. Besides it Michael Jackson!!! Who doesnt get up and dance to Michael Jackson at some point? *Gets up and does the moon walk*

Hrmm... I really really hope it is open soon. I know things are never set in stone, however my friends and I planned a trip specifically to see it!
I just talked to a CM this morning and they told me the same thing, that it was in the testing stages.

The exterior areas still looked liked they needed a bit of work (screens, etc.) when we were there last week.

Man, I hope they wait at least a few more weeks! We will be there The first 5 days of March. CEO isn't going to be a big deal for my kids, so I'd rather just avoid the crowds that are inevitably going to arrive with CEO.

According to Al Lutz's "official rumor," Captain EO is expected to open on Tuesday, February 23.

yes, there is a cast preview today to make sure everything is in working order...

All of you so excited to see it must have never seen it originally... it is sooooooo cheesy! I seriously doubt it will stand the test of time. Other than seeing a young, vibrant Michael Jackson... it was not very good, even at it's peak.

That said, I still have some of those songs in my head even yet today. They are catchy, even if the story/technology are really bad!!

HISTA is old-but not nearly as bad as EO- I hope if they don't bring back HISTA, they bring in something better.

I saw it originally, and I can't wait to go see it again. I was upset when they got rid of it and put in HISTA. I never liked that show, and hoped for the day that Captain EO would return. As far as cheesy, anything at Disneyland can be considered cheesy. But people love it anyway.

I plan on going tomorrow, but I'm not sure what kind of wait times to expect. In any case, I'm just glad I don't have to resort to YouTube anymore just to watch Captain EO.
