I'm trying to plan our excursions for our May 25, 2002 western cruise. My DS is 5 and won't turn 6 until June and can't go on the DCL Stingray City excursion so i'm looking at doing things on our own.
I recall a few weeks ago that someone posted that they had used Capt Marvin's in the past and they recommended them. I found Capt marvin's web site and was looking at the different excursions that they have available. I'm torn between two choices:
1st choice:
Half-day Excursion: 10 AM to 1 PM, or 2 PM to 5 PM, seven days a week (add 15 minutes each way for ground transportation) Stingray City sandbar, where you may feed and swim with the 'rays
Snorkel at the beautiful Coral Gardens
Snorkel at the incredible Barrier Reef!
Price: US$39/ages 12 and over; US$22/ages 4-11; under age 4, free!
Price includes round-trip transportation from the Waterfront Centre, or from your condo or hotel on Seven Mile Beach, PLUS snorkel gear, life vest (optional), food for the stingrays, and icewater and fruit punch on board the boat.
2nd choice:
2-Hour Excursion: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM, 11:15 AM to 1:15 PM, or 1:45 to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday (add 15 minutes each way for ground transportation)
Stingray City sandbar, where you may feed and swim with the 'rays
Snorkel at the incredible Barrier Reef!
Price: US$34/ages 12 and over; US$20/ages 4-11; under age 4, free!
Price includes round-trip transportation from the Waterfront Centre, or from your condo or hotel on Seven Mile Beach, PLUS snorkel gear, life vest (optional), food for the stingrays, and icewater and fruit punch on board the boat.
Has anyone ever snorkeled at the 'Coral Gardens' and is it worth it? I'm leaning towrds the 2-hour excursion (8:30-10:30) thinking that we could snorkel in the morning, return to the ship for lunch and then spend the afternoon doing some sight-seeing and shopping.
Any suggestions/tips/ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
