Has anyone been there recently? I have a friend that is going to WDW for the first time in May and they are planning to eat there, I have read some older post giving it a not so nice place to dine. Just wondering if there are any improvements.

Thanks

We ate there in Dec. It was great. They ley us add lobster to whatever we had free with the dining plan. I think it was a special or something. It was nice though. We sat on the water and had margarita's. They were the best ones we have had in WDW. Tell her to go and have fun.

Went in Sept. Probably our best meal all week and wished we had booked it twice.

:rotfl: The pic that DH saw that inspired a change in our ADR plans lol.
He's so excited to find a decent looking lobster available on the DP - thanks again.:thumbsup2 Might even get us back to the World more often;)

OH, I'm feeling pressure ! :scared:
Hope he enjoys it as much as we did. You know you can ruin a lobster really fast, but ours were perfect. As were the shrimp cocktail and wonderful crab cakes.

WOW, that is making me hungry. I'm hope we go in Sept. Think we may try Captain Jacks, never been there.

Would one need an ADR for CapNJacks (Late April Tuesday evening around 6pm?) Thanks.

Cap'n Jacks is great, but it's small so book ahead! It's one of the most overlooked restaurants on property in my opinion (Marrakesh being another).

where is captain jacks

& is ADR code for advance dinner reservation??
& if so how far inadvance should you book or can you book, does it depend on the location??

Do they have a special # to call with all the info/or website??

Sorry for all the questions:confused3

DTD next to Rainforest on the water.

Yes, ADR is the "reservation" and you just call the regular Disney dining folks.

I went there two years ago and didn't like it at all. It was our only bad meal of the trip. I had the Lobster tail and it was not good. If you want good Lobster tail, I had the best at Le Cellier. You could not even compare the two. Also, although the waiter was nice, the hostess and host were down right nasty. Also, we felt very rushed.

Would not go back.

My daughter had the ribs and they were undercooked and I forgot what my wife had, but she didn't even eat it.

we went there in January for LUNCH, it was gross...and I just personally hated the atmosphere...felt dirty to me. I have heard people rave about dinner and the lobster, but thats all i have heard that was good. lobster is not on the lunch menu, so keep that in mind anyone going for lunch. the service was very good but the food..not so much. :confused3

umm, it's all good...figure they cook enough of them; they should be good at it:idea:  ;)

They cut back on there menu, but the food is good there.
