Has anyone had any great (or terrible) experiences with either of these companies? I kind of like the idea of the catamaran with cap't Bryan's but everyone seems to love cap't Marvin's. Do you know something I don't?

I'm looking at booking for 16 people. Would either of these companies let us do a private charter with no one else on board. Has anyone tried to book a time that's not listed on the web site? 8:00 maybe hard to get there for but that's the tour we would like (just at 9:00;) )

What have others experienced?

Will be able to let you know about Capt Bryan's after this cruise. Will be using them on 7/22...mainly because we wanted the catamaran instead of a cabin cruiser. Capt Marvins doesn't have catamarans. They seem like both good companies, but I think that more people on this board have used Capt Marvins for some reason. Maybe they were more known before Capt Bryans. Actually, at first I thought they were one in the same...probably because of "Captain."

I can't speak for Capt. Bryan's, but we just used Capt. Marvin's this past cruise. I cannot say enough good things about them. They are a real class operation. If it makes any difference, Captain Marvin was the first person to discover and develop Stingray CIty, so I give him the edge in experience.

tezb . . .

What time did you book for the Captain Bryan's. And, how far in advance. I am VERY interested in the Captain Bryan catamaran. That is why I want to book there.

I'll have 4 adults, DD10, DS8, DS8 and DD4 -- the 4 year old is the one that I'm a bit concerned about. Do you know if they have adequate stuff around for one that little??

Thanks, can't wait to hear your comments.

Readyfor disney..

We just booked Capt Bryan's recently, about 3-4 wks ago ( our cruise is 7/19). We are doing the 9:30-12noon, family of 5 and they were very accommodating...plan to post LIVe so will let you know! The also have life vests for everyone if nec.

OMG . . . You are leaving in 2 days! You must be so excited.

Yes, please let me know how the day with Captain Bryan went. I'm anxious to get all my excursions worked out. Did you talk with them on the phone or just via email?

Sandra

We've used Captain Bryan's a few times and they are a class act, Captain Bryan and Javid(Gavid?) are great and its a perfect excursion for adults or kids from beginners to experienced snorkelers.

Captain Marvins was good but its a motor boat, not a catamaran like Captain Bryans.

Hey readyfordisney....Yes, we are excited...I'm writing this as my last response for now...Plan to post LIVE...hopefully, and will let you know details after our excursion...hoping there are no more storm/hurricane problems this coming week.

Anyway, I first booked w/ Capt Bryans thru an email but I later called them w/ my credit card number because they didn't have a secure site and I didn't want to write it in an email. They were very nice and also told us we would be sailing in the 50 ft Red Hannibal Catamaran. This is the one shown on their site. I also think Catamarans are supposed to be more stable in the water than cabin cruisers.

So long, for now....we leave tomorrow and don't arrive in Orlando til 11pm or so...coming from the West Coast...Bon Voyage!!
