Can anyone tell me what they think of this restaurant?

Is it worth a TS credit?

Thanks.:cool1:

HORRIBLE FOOD!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!

I thought the lobster was not bad but no better than your local red lobster! In fact I enjoy red lobster much much more, I am by no means a food snob. Everything else was really bad though. I will not return. This time I am just going to go to Narcossees for thier lobster as I have read the food is great.

I really enjoyed Captain Jack's - the view (at lunch) was breath taking.
The food was yummy and our server was really a great deal of fun :goodvibes

OK I will split the difference on the last two posts and say the last time we were there the food was good but the service was not the best. The lobster was good although we were on the Dining Plan and would not have thought it worth it otherwise. The service was OK but not very attentive - refills, etc. I would go back if on DDP but not otherwise.

I didn't like the food at Captain Jack's. The twin tails were good but everything else was blah or just plain not good. We had crab cakes, shrimp cocktail & kid's salad, twin tails, salmon (texture of canned salmon or tuna) & chicken sandwich, chocolate lava cake & fruit cup. The appy and dessert parts of the kids meal were served in plastic containers. Service was also blah. I really wanted to like Captain Jack's as I love lobster. A meal at Red Lobster is MUCH better. There are many better places to spend a TS credit at in WDW.

We ate there last year on our DDP and enjoyed it very much. It was crowded and the service was slow because of that, but we weren't in any rush so it was fine to sit for a while and relax. My father wants to go back again this year because he enjoyed the view and food so much.

I ate there two years ago and I didn't like it at all. The service was horrible and the food was bad.

We ate there one time as a random walk in and it was totally empty - the service we had was fine, the food was not so great. Very bland and boring and overpriced for what it was (even by Disney standards!)

The more I read the more I begin to wonder if it's a timeframe issue.
Most everyone I see condemming the food ate dinner there - I had lunch. They worked out great for sandwiches, apetizers and dessert. Certainly not the best meal I had that week (California Grill is worth every penny) - but not the worst either (I will never return to Artist Point - talk about bad food and worse service).

That said - the food was a little on the expensive side - even at lunch, but on the DDP that didn't seem all that important to me. It was the only table service at DTD at the time that would take the DDP so we ate there becasue I didn't want to waste credits on CS on that trip. (Premium Plan)

At last DH will get lobster @ WDW:banana: ; that's all we want from Capt. Jacks...well, hopefully a romantic window table for our 10:00 ADR.

IMO nobody does a basic lobster tail better than Red Lobster - my fav.:thumbsup2

Worth it if you are using the dining plan- Maybe not worth it if you paying cash. Our bill for four adults and three children was over $250.00. BUT we were using the dining plan, so we all got an app, meal, dessert & drink. Lots of good food for very little money using the plan.

We just visited a few weeks ago. Our server was great. We all had the lobster tails and we all really enjoyed it. The kids menu was also good. And yes, the view is fantastic. The food is not over done- Some may call that bland but we are a family that does not really like "fancy" food. So, if you like surf food, you may really like it also. Only problem we encountered was being seated 30 minutes after our ADR time and we even arrived 20 minutes early. This was a big problem because we had tickets for a show that night. We told our server we were seated late and now in a rush and she made sure we got through the meal quickly.

We were there for a late lunch. The place was disgusting. No one was busing the tables so there was uneaten food and dirty dishes on alot of the tables. Talk about flies. The food was just ok nothing special. Service was horrible.

We liked it fine--appetizers, lobster tails and desserts were good, sides were not (at least mine weren't). Service was excellent. If we were going to be in DTD at dinner time I'd be OK with eating there again for 1 TS credit, but I don't think I'd plan a trip down there just for that.

Our family's dining review of Cap'n Jacks with pics is here ---> clicky clicky

This was before they took the lobster tail add-on off the menu.

I has been a few years since we have gone, but it looks like nothing has changed. My husband and I decided to take our two kids out for a "nice" dinner. We looked at the menu and decided that although the prices were high, the choices looked good.

As far as the food, I agree with the previous poster that Red Lobster is better. I'm not a food snob, I just expect that for the prices I'm paying, the food should match. The only thing we enjoyed about the restaurant is the atmosphere.

We ate at a number of the lower priced restaurants (Wolfgang Puck's express) and enjoyed the food much more and didn't spend 1/2 as much.

I would avoid them.

we ate there for lunch in jan. worst meal of our trip. The service was ok, the food had NO TASTE at all, and the place just seemed very dirty and gross. not very disney IMO. if you want lobster, go to narcoossees. I know ts two TS, but it is SO worth it!

We went before La Noumba, the service was so slow, and there was no one in the place at 5pm! The food just wasnt worth going back for, it wasnt horrid send it back bad. But there are other places we would rather try first.
