Cap'n Jack's Restaurant

Everyone has their own opinions and tastes but my experience with this restaurant wasnt good. Menu had very little variety, portions small, food was very bland and the prices were expensive..

The first time we ate here the food was wonderful, we were starving at the time though. The second time, the food was not so great. As the previous poster as mentioned the menu us somewhat limited.

We had a later dinner there in December. it was very good, and the food was plentiful. CMs were effecient and friendly. Overall a very good experience for us.

This is one of my DH's favorite places to eat and while not mine I don't have any problems with it and I don't think I ever had a bad meal there. Service is fine as well.

I wouldn't say we have had WONDERFUL food. But pretty darn good. And we would not hesitate to revisit. :cool1: Our service has always been very good, whether it be lunch or dinner.

We have always gone in as walk ups. Some of that was when they did not take ADRs, from what I read here. From what I have read here, they do now.
So far for a table for two we have not had to wait more than maybe 5 minutes tops. But we probably have not eaten there for 2 - 3 months.

I don't want to dodge the question, but I think it's importatnt to try restaurants for yourself and make up your mind if it fits your idea of a good place to eat. As you can see from the responses so far on this thread, there's no consensus on anything from portions to quality.

Check it out and let us know what you think when you get back!

Good luck!

Disgusting. You get a better fish at McDs!

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be fun if they did a pirate overlay on this and added Jack Sparrow! It would be kind of cool to have him running around while eating dinner!

We avoided CJ for years because of such bad reviews here. And we have always enjoyed it. Sure it isn't the Flying Fish. But it doesn't cost as much either. :confused3

DH and I dined there in April on a weeknight. We arrived right before 5 pm and were given a table with a water view. Our server was great and we found the food to be plentiful and good. We were able to use our DDE card, so I thought the meal was reasonably priced.

We had seen all the negative comments but decided to try it anyway. I'm glad that we did!

A must-do for us every trip. Limited menu, but sometimes that's not a bad thing if you're the type of person who can't decide what they want!! You can't beat the view.

Not the best seafood, but certainly not the worst. We love the atmosphere.

My mom loves the clam chowder and margaritas! We giggled our way through dinner during our trip in March!!! :drinking:

I agree with the poster who said you just have to go and try it out for yourself. A lot of the restaurants that get bashed on this board are among my favorites... I guess I just have bad taste or something... ;)
