Capital One Rewards Question

DH rarely uses this card anymore but we looked at his rewards and he was pretty close to being able to get $100 exxon mobil gift card that we decided could be used on our vacation to Gulf Shores next month. So we to used it last month, just to get the rewards up to that point. I just checked it, and even though the rewards posted to the account, the amount it requires to get a gift card has gone up. Everything that was once 15,000 miles is now 15,500 miles. Now, if they raised it all across the board for everyone, that's one thing...but I'm seriously wondering if the miles required to get $100 gift card (to numerous places) was raised for us because now we have that many miles. Could someone look at their capital one rewards and see how many miles you need to get $100 gift card to exxon mobil? Please please please? I know maybe I'm being paranoid, but I'm a little aggravated because we only used it this last time to earn the rewards to get the card. I'm afraid if we use it again, they are just going to raise the required miles again and we'll never reach it. I know, paranoid. Thanks in advance!

Hmmmm my Cap One No hassle rewards is 10,000 points for a $100 Exxon card. I have used my points for dozens of gift cards, and never had them raise the amount of points needed. I never have a problem with them.

Mine is showing as 15,500 for all of the $100 cards. I don't look at it often, so I don't know when it changed.

Hmmm....10,000 for one person and 15,500 for another. I would like to see what a few more people have because if it varies that much, I'm going to call them.

I wonder if they have different options for different cards. I checked mine right after I read your post so I know the 10,000 points is current for my program. Mine is No Hassle Rewards. Maybe you have a different program. I know there are all kinds of them out there even within the same companies.

It says No Hassle Rewards. :confused3 But the thing is, it was only 15,000 miles last month, and it changed once we reached 15,000. It's like chasing a carrot. :(

Hmmm...that's wierd. Like I said I checked mine right after I read your first post and mine is listed as only 10,000 points for a $100 Exxon card.

I've never had any issue redeeming my points from them. I would definitely give them a call! Good Luck!

I really appreciate your response! :) I may see if a couple more people chime in before I make the call. Won't be till tomorrow anyway because it's actually DH's card (he won't get home until late tonight) so he will need to get them on the phone and give them permission to talk to me. He won't mess with it so I will have to do it.

Just checked mine and its 10,000 for $100. I redeemed for gift cards with them before and never experience a point increase like that.

I think different cards might have different redemption values that are tied to how much you earn/what your redemption factor is.

Some of you are talking points
Some of you are talking miles
Are points and miles interchangeable? Or do you have different reward systems? Maybe some earn one and some earn the other. Do you earn a point or a mile at the same rate...say one point/mile per $1? Or do you earn miles faster than points? I'm thinking you guys may be comparing apples and oranges.

I think crusinfamily is right. I was trying to do some research on it and discovered their No Hassle Rewards came in a large variety of cards. And like cruisn said, the have miles, points, and cash. I didn't know that. I must have been wrong about how much it was initially because the others have posted theres are 15,500 as well. All is well. Guess I gotta spend a couple more hundred, get my points, and then go back to my Disney Visa and Discover. Thanks for your responses everyone!
