Capital One Bowl... Any Badger Fans?

As a UW-Madison student, I would like to go see my team play in Orlando! But...we are arriving in Disney one day later, on January 3rd and cannot change our flight.

Have I seen the Badgers play at Camp Randall? Only once, I and I had a horrible time. The student section is not for me! I was surrounded by all drunk people, we had to stand up on the bleachers the whole time, and at times when we had to jump up and down for various cheers, I felt like I was going to fall down! (And there were so many drunks that many of them did!) I'm sure I sound like an old lady...but I'd much rather get a regular ticket for the bowl in Orlando.

The big ten is a terrific conference. Just take a look at two of the top 4 teams in the BCS Penn State (#3) and Ohio State (#4). Ohio State only lost to Penn State (#3) and Texas (#2). We will do great in our bowl games. Go big 10!!!!

Wish I were watching the game from Orlando- but I'll be home in my living room rooting for the Auburn Tigers! We are going to WDW next Dec. I find it amusing how these threads always turn into whose conference is better than whose. Just look at the above thread about the LSU game- very interesting reading. Wish I could be at the game and WDW... oh well.
BTW- we all know the SEC is the best conference in the nation!!! Just kidding- kinda- but don't get all fired up!

You're so cute!!! You DO realize you're going to UW Madison in Wisconsin right??? Mandatory first class, Drinking 101!!!

Funny, but my son started UW Whitewater 3 years ago and they really DID have Drinking 101, mandatory DVD's to watch for Freshman. Of course, it was about drinking responsibly. But kind of funny to hear.

Sorry, it's been a tradition for as long as I can remember and I'm 51. NOW, the ONLY time I'll have a beer is on vacation at "Disney World"!!! Usually to try one of thier specialty ones!!! I'd have to agree, people do get to acting and looking kind of ridiculous and in the student section at UW, downright dangerous!!! REALLY!!! You're definitely right.

Iowa won the Capital One bowl last year by beating LSU with a last minute touchdown pass, so GO WISCONSIN, and keep the Big Ten going!

Thanks Deb . My season ticket seats are next to the visiting team. I have to say that the vast majority of the Iowa fans were great! Even in ... victory . We were bummed, but the Iowa fans were (mostly) very nice. Thank goodness we beat Michigan, if you KWIM.

You could be me 20 years (yikes!) ago. The student section is much more amusing from the outside. I used to be in section J, but was moved to the upper deck when the student section was expanded . I miss hearing the band and the student, but I still JUMP! in the 4th quarter. Even though I am surrounded by people who graduated in the 70's . I still live in Madison (on the Isthmus) only 1 block from where I lived as a student in the mid-80's.

I had thoughts of leaving Jan 1 out of mke. But my job comes first, and my sports bar should be packed. Brats and kraut with a lot of cheese and sausage. And I'm perfecting my Badger Punch. I go to a lot of Badger games in Madison and do trips out of my place to other venues. Can't wait to slow down and enjoy some of the future bowl games in person. As far as the student section, it's a tradition and I hope it stays. Anybody go to the old copper grid this year?? The dancer's were "interesting" I prefer the Big Ten pub to soak up the atmosphere. Good luck to Auburn, and thanks Barry for your time put in and rebuilding the program. Keep Barry's son away from the Enchanted Tiki Room!! Too many birds to choose from....
