Family has been considering Cape May for dinner. There seems to be some conflicting reviews. Whats your opinion?

Three weeks and counting :teeth:

I went in December and was disappointed. I really don't care for clams but had heard that the "regular side was pretty good". Nothing on the buffet was all that great, however, I thought Hollywood and Vine was great! So there is no accounting for taste.

We, on the other hand, really enjoy the clam bake! But the best part of the buffet is the dessert station.......so good!

We eat there every trip, and have never been disappointed. Something for everyone and they are usually busy so fresh hot food at all times. :cool1: Give it a try.

Three of us ate there in November and none of us liked it. We are not "clam" people, but had to eat there as a last resort, although, I had always wanted to try it anyway. SO, now I did, and probably wouldn't go back unless someone in my party was bound and determined to eat there. I should have probably sprung for the crab.

DD5 and I were there in October and we both really liked it. The food was all pretty good and the desserts were great. I'd definitely go back.

This restaurant is a favorite of 11 yo DD and I love it, too. We always try to make time to go to the Cape May Cafe for the clambake before heading over to Epcot for the evening. If you're undecided, you should give it a try and form your own opinion. The desserts are wonderful, but I'm always so full from the main buffet that I just look at the desserts.

We enjoyed it! We ate there last month and thought it was really good! There was lots of variety! :)

The Cape May Clam Bake is always on our MUST list. A wide variety for seafood lovers and non-seafood lovers as well.

Carved beef was small and dry; Ribs were overdone--kind of rubbery; It was very busy and many of the food items were left unfilled for a while. Noone in our party of 7 liked the food and we all agreed we are not going back. Two in the party got sick later on we attributed it to the food there.

We've tried it about 5 or 6 times because alot of people like it. Each time we were disappointed. The shrimp was overcooked and the mussels were gritty. The kids love it because there is variety for them. I do enjoy going there for breakfast but not for dinner.

We love Cape May. It is one of our must do's each trip prior to watching IllumiNations. My DW and DD love the seafood portion more than I do but they have plenty of other items too. Make sure to try the Oreo bon-bons too!!

As you can see from the previous posts - this is the trend for Cape May! Some really like it and others don't seem to. We have enjoyed dinner there with our youngest two children 3 times now. Each time we were a little less impressed. Overall, though, if you like clams/oysters and the like you can certainly get your money's worth out of it. We still would choose Boma over Cape May any day though...

It does seem to be love it or leave it. DW loves seafood so I still think we'll give it a whril. Plus we are going to Boma's :) Thanks to all for the comments
Leave in exactly 3 weeks to the day & time :yay:

I LOVE it!!! It is my one must do on each trip. My kids love it too, but the food that they eat is pretty much the same at all the other buffets. My DH however really doesn't like it all that much. Just tolerates it because I love it so much. He is not a seafood guy and doesn't think there is enough good regular food. He is always full when we leave, but would prefer a just a steak restaurant.

Okay, I posted earlier that we really like Cape May. We had dinner there on Thursday and it just wasn't as good as our earlier visits. Our server had too many tables and couldn't handle them all, the food wasn't as good as usual, and the lines to the food were terrible because they weren't keeping items filled (and, it wasn't because some bozo was taking the whole pot -- I've seen that before, too). Anyway, we won't need to go back for awhile.

this is our favorite. I'm planning my DH's birthday dinner there this year! My DD7 loves those clams. The server wanted to know who was eating all those clams when DD was just 5. Try the oreo bon bons. Mmmmmm!

We were there in Dec. I was with 7 yr old dd. I think we would have liked it better if they hadn't run out of at least 1/2 the items on the buffet. It was crowded and we probably made about 6 trips back and forth trying to get dd things they had to keep replenishing.

We spent more time at the buffet in line than we did eating and it was a pain because our table was not real convenient to the buffet. I didn't think the food was great, maybe because it needed some "freshening". We had ADR's for 7 and didn't sit until 7:30. If we were to do this again I'd definitely try going very early. But, we'll probably just stick with breakfast here.
