Cape May Seafood Buffet

I enjoyed my meal there in November. We're going back during our July trip.

I'm pretty sure that's snow crab, not Alaskan King Crab.

That's snow crab...

That's King Crab-- notice the girth of the legs compared to the lime.

I don't even see crab legs of any type on the menu or shrimp. Just clams and mussels. Is this something they used to have and dint anymore or am I looking at the wrong menu?

Oh yes, of course you're right. Please excuse my senior moment...

but whatever version of crab it was, I enjoyed every bite! :)

Cape May Clam Bake was our arrival night dinner on May 5. We were so impressed with the whole thing and will absolutely be doing it again. This was our first time eating here for dinner....we have eaten at the character breakfast numerous of times (one of our favorites). Everything was so hot and fresh and they kept bringing out fresh Snow Crab Legs for us to eat. The only unfortunate part of it for us is that our family spent so much time on the seafood side of the buffet, that we were too stuffed to try the land side....definitely next time :goodvibes

It was still one of the best buffet we've ever had on the property. And we don't even eat crab.

Honestly I can eat there every night and be happy. But then my clothes won't fit me when I leave WDW either... :lmao:

we went a few weeks ago and I was not impressed......The clams were not like clams that I get here in maine.....they were a thicker shell and the clam itself was no bigger then the top of my fingernail....the crab legs were cold and we are used to having hot ones......the other items like the beef was very heavily seasoned ...took the taste of the meat away...we had some of the other items but for the price I would of liked a few other things that were seafood.

But as you will notice.......different likes and dislikes for everyone.......so give it a try ...

I'm with several others who are not overwhelmed with Cape May. The crab legs were ok, but everything else was your typical not all that spectacular buffet food. Perhaps if I liked buffets better I would be more positive. ;)

I've eaten there twice and I'm not a fan...... Food was very MEH, bland and likewarm.:scared1:

Our family has eaten here twice now. Once with extended and once just hubby, DD and myself. Enjoyed the all you can eat crab. Hubby threatens to bring a book to pass time while DD and I eat crab. Also an awesome dessert buffet.

When it's good it's fantastic! When it's bad, it's terrible. Of course you could say that about any restaurant, but Cape May used to be my favorite place, so when it started slipping, I was really disappointed, especially considering the price.

I hate it when it's crowded. One day I stood in line for 10 minutes for clams/mussels. Craziness.

We loved dinner at Cape May! Just remember non-seafood eaters probably won't care for it. We'll be trying the character breakfast there next month

LOVE  Cape May! Doing it for my Birthday in December - I can't wait...Gimme more clams!

We tried it for the first time on our trip in December and we LOVED it!! We did breakfast and dinner there and both were really good. I liked the selection of the dinner buffet. I am usually not a fan of buffets but my husband really wanted to try the dinner and we did breakfast for the characters. My husband still swears the grits there were the best he's ever had. I say, take a chance and give it a try! Seems like it depends on your tastes and experience so you never know until you try it for yourself! :thumbsup2

Enjoyed it in March. The kids loved it. Have it down as a reservation to make over the Christmas holiday.

Is it still worth going if your not a big seafood fan? I like haddack/cod but not clams. I have never tried crab legs. My DH does not eat much fish either. He likes mussells and cold shrimp. I did make a reservation for our trip in November because it gets such great reviews. How is the other food at the buffet?
Thanks

According to the menu they have a lot of offerings that aren't seafood, like Pork loin, flank steak, ribs, roasted chicken and even a kids station with nuggets and mac n cheese.

We're going on a Sat night because that is fried shrimp night and 4 out of 5 of us like fried shrimp, 3 out of 5 like crab legs, and 2 of us like fried fish... so everyone should be able to get full.

You can see the menu on www.allears.net
