Trying to decide between these two. Have done CP before but never Cape May - and we're staying at the Beach Club. I don't think that Cape May Cafe has the puffed French toast, but are there any other major differences between the two? Which do you all prefer and why? Thanks!!

If I was staying at BC I'd definitely do CMC. I don't recall puffed french toast but they do have a beautiful selection of fruits and baked goods as well as smoked salmon with cream cheese plus the typical hot foods.

If you're wanting a late breakfast as a break at MK then CP would be a good option. If you're hoping to get into MK early for those precious pictures in front of the castle without any crowds them CP is a good option. If you'll be at Epcot or DHS or enjoying a resort day then CMC makes so much more sense.

I really am the kind of person who chooses where I want to be before choosing my restaurants rather than the other way around. If you choose where you want to be based on your restaurants then take a look at the menus to see which appeals to you more.

We love Crystal Palace breakfast - it's our favorite, especially the puffed french toast :worship: Cape May Cafe breakfast is good - you should find the buffet satisfying (but no puffed french toast). Cape May is probably the most relaxed character meal in WDW and the character interaction is fantastic. Since you will be staying at the Beach Club, Cape May makes the most sense, unless of course you were planning this breakfast on a MK day.

Love Cape May...

When we stayed at BC we ate at Cape May. I believe that character interaction is largely a time and place pixie dust kind of thing...however, I have to agree with a PP about CMC and it's more casual pace. If you have a morning to have a more relaxed morning, then definitely go for CMC. Not that it has to be slow...

When we went there, the seating was not done in a very orderly fashion, meaning that one section wasn't all seated and then moving on...it was more like a regular restaurant where the patrons were spread out over the servers. With that the characters came around more than once. It was great fun. I remember that DH was reading his newspaper and Minnie came back around and starting reading over his shoulder and pointing out something, whatever, it was the second time around to see her so there was actually more "interaction" and less posing and signing. Goofy did something too. It was such fun.

IMO, you should take advantage of the fact that you are are onsite and eat there. It's kind of a pain to get to for people relying on Disney transportation which explains why I could still get a ressie there during FD last week. (We just booked during the first week. We are driving ourselves and this was the character breakfast that I really wanted, and yay, it was available still.) Chock that up to transportation issues & location, not quality. I remember really enjoying my breakfast there.

We are going on a DTD day. We love DQ, and so our sleep in day is hitting this buffet for a later breakfast (9:40 AM) and then hitting the opening of DQ which is later in the morning...

I'd pick Cape May. We ate there twice during our last trip and it was our favorite breakfast. The restaurant is so relaxing, calm and quiet in comparison to the other character meals we had. The character interaction was the best we had all week because they actually had time to spend at each table and they made it around twice each morning.

The food was great! They don't have puffed french toast but they do have this baked french toast bread pudding thing that was delicious! They also have a yummy breakfast pizza, veggie and meat omelets, potatoes and fruit. It was also of the standard fare that we had at many of breakfast buffets on property but it just seemed to be done better.

But, CP is also a good choice if you are going to be in the MK that day.

Exactly, they had time to interact and not pose, sign and go. Goofy was crazy the mornings that we went. He sat down and "chatted" with DD, tried to feed DS a whole Mickey waffle and made a few calls on DH's phone. Donald came around extra because DS kept hugging him and saying "I wuv, you Onald!" DD was putting on chapstick when Minnie came around and she put some on too. It was truly interaction and our kids ate it up and still talk about it.

CP is much better. Yes the major difference is that Cape May does not have an omelet station - where in CP you can also get pancakes to order at the omelet station too. I like CP the best out of all the character breakfasts that we have been to.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts. We will be traveling with friends and this will help us to decide what works best for us. Thanks again! :goodvibes

Since you are staying there I definately do Cape May. Been to both both are good. Cape May I found to be very quiet compared to all the other places.

I liked them both, but I think I like Cape May just a smidge better.

I liked Cape May because it was so much more low-key. I didn't feel rushed and it was the perfect way to start the day. And, too, I also prefer Minnie and friends to Pooh and friends.

I don't think you'll go wrong either way, but since you've done Crystal Palace and you ARE staying at BC, maybe you should try Cape May.

We LOVE Cape May Cafe, it is a must do for us each trip. The food is always hot and fresh and the character interaction is awesome. My DD6 is a HUGE Minnie fan and everytime we eat there, she lets Minnie know and it never fails, Minnie always gives her extra special attention because of it. And like others, I too agree that since you are already staying there, it would almost be a no brainer as to why you shouldn't go. When we are there in September we are eating at both for breakfast and I really can't wait to try out CP because of the all of the rave reviews :goodvibes

Cape May is by far our favorite character meal at WDW.

The atmosphere is great, the food is very good and the character interaction is the best we have seen.

As others have said you never feel rushed there, especially when interacting with the characters. They always seem to have plenty of time for you.

When we stay at the Beach Club we usually have breakfast there daily and dinner there (though not a character dinner) 3 or 4 times at least.
