cape may clambake- tarragon garlic clams

Hi- have done much reading- none recently enough- little posting- love disboards. Went to Cape May last night and found that the plain clams with broth are a thing of the past- unless you ask for plain clams with no butter. Evidently there is no broth for rinsing. this may have been posted but my search fn was disabled..Susan

Yes, we discovered the same thing. I cannot eat alot of garlic, and these clams were just SWIMMING in it. I didn't know that I could request the plain ones, but am very happy to have that knowledge now, since I really didn't want to give up going to one of my husband's favorite places. Also, the mussels are swimming in garlic as well.

I always loved the mussels and clams here, and wish they hadn't decided to fix what wasn't broke!

Sounds like the way I make them at home...but I do add a little white wine
