Has anyone eaten here for dinner? What's it like? How's the food? Any and all opinions will be great!

If you go to www.allears.net you can view the menus for all Disney resorts as well as resturants in the parks and DTD.

I have never eaten there but maybe this site will help you out!
Bon appetit!

Bump! I have made ADR at Cape May only because my dad said he wants seafood over steak. Can anyone tell me how's the food there?

I checked out the menu, but I would really like people's opinions on the food, service and atmosphere. Help!!!!

We ate there on our last trip in April 06. If you like mussles, shrimp, and clams, you will love this buffet. They also have many other choices for the non seafood lover too. They also have a kids buffet that is non-seafood friendly. We loved it!! The atmosphere is very relaxed. They even give the kids crayons to draw on the table cloths!!

We ate here in 2004, and it was one of the first on our list for an upcoming trip. DH and I are very picky, and we both loved it. There are a ton of choices (seafood, steak, chicken, salads, etc.). We went with another couple who are very into seafood (live on the coast), and they loved it. I would highly suggest it. Our services was great, and I think the price was well worth the meal. The desserts are great as well. Have fun!

We ate there a fews years back. All I can say is YUMMY!!! Hubby and I thought everything was really good. We love seafood and thought it was well worth it. We are planning another trip to Disney in 2007 and this is one place will go to again!! :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :woohoo: :smooth: :wave2: :hippie:

CMC is a must for us every trip for both breakfast and dinner. The dinner has something for everyone. It's not just seafood and not just meat. As far as seafood...they have peel and eat spiced shrimp (which is very good), maybe fried shrimp too, fried clams, steamed clams, a fish, maybe oysters, and some type of fish filet. I am not positive on the oysters..I only get the shrimp or fried clams and then meats. It's not gourmet seafood like Citrico's or a higher scale place, but it's pretty good. You must try the Oreo Bon Bons too! To me it's more like a home cooked meal with favorites. After eating a lot of new things all week..it feels nice like a nice cooked home meal.

We travel to Disney at least twice a year and this is always a must for my family of four. We always have great service and great food. All you can eat mussels, clams, and shrimp......I'm in heaven. My 2 dd's do not like seafood, but there is plenty that they do like and love it just as much as my husband and I.

I love, love, love this place! We went in October 2005, and it became a must-do for every trip! We are going next week, and every time I ask DH what he is looking forward to, he says, "Cape May!". It is my favorite place to eat in all of WDW! :cool1:

We absolutely love Cape May and go every trip. In fact, we have two dinners set up there for Sept.

The seafood is good, but if you are from a real seafood mecca, it's not the greatest. The clams are pretty small and are "florida clams (no bellies and clean) but are still tasty. the rest of the food is great too and it's a very summer barbecue type menu.

And the desserts are incredible!! The apple brown betty rocks!!

My son and I had dinner there during our last trip. We both loved it! :thumbsup2

We add an order to crab legs to our order which we were unable to finish.

I was too full to try out the dessert, but they all looked great.

We will be returning to the Clam Bake during our next trip. :yay:

I'll add that we also enjoy it and are looking forward to going again in December.

kaw1218: Cape May Cafe is my DH's favorite place to eat. However, if you are looking for an "upscale" seafood restaurant with gormet type food this is not it. It has a nice variety of selections, and I have always found that the food was well prepared and tasty. I have read reports form others on these boards who are from New England or sea side type communities who do not find the food to their standards, but being from central PA, we find the food as good or better than anything we get here. That said, it is one of the stops on our upcoming "favorite restaurant tour" vacation that starts next weekend. We'll be at Cape May Cafe on Sunday June 4. Can't wait.

Thanks everyone. All of your input has really helped!

We love it, too! The seafood is very good, good 'land' choices, but best of all are the Oreo Bon Bons! Save room for two!

First, let me state that Cape May Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants, both for breakfast and dinner.

I had heard a lot of bad reviews about the dinner, especially the shrimp being overcooked. This had never happened to me until this past January. But it's still a favorite of mine. I guess it just depends on how busy they are and things like that. But you may end up there on a night when the shrimp isn't that good.

It's definitely not upscale since it's a buffet. But the selection is great.

The whole family likes this one. DW, who runs screaming into the night if faced with the prospect of eating any seafood, manages just fine (she attacks the ribs.) DD prefers the mussels to the clams.

I'm a seafood fan, and I like it all. It's an easy place to eat yourself into a stupor. I can make a meal off the shrimp alone (although, like others, I once got into a batch that was overcooked ... sort of like eating little tennis balls. That was a one-time incident, tho.)

Give it a shot. I *think* you'll be pleased.
