We want to try this one since we will be staying at the Y&BC. No one in my family is big on seafood and I don't like it at all. Couple of questions:

1. Does it make no sense to eat here if we will not eat any seafood (or very little)?

2. Is the seafood smell very strong in the restaurant?

Thanks for your replies.

Let me start by saying that I'm not a clam eater. I like seafood, but there's something with clams. But...I have to admit this is one of my favorite buffets. There is so much other food to choose from. I don't notice the smell of the clams and mussels at all. It is a great place to eat. I don't know if you have small ones, but they even have a small buffet for them (well anyone) with mac and cheese, mini hot dogs and things like that. If you haven't check out allearsnet.com you should. They have menus from all the different places to eat. I hope you decide to go and that everything is good. pixiedust:

the only seafood at this buffet is the clam chowder, the mussels and the clams.
there is roast beef, ribs, chicken, pastas, pizza (from the childrens section), corn, potatoes and lots of salad fixings. So not to worry you will love this buffet.
Just know that they do not serve ice cream for dessert. (but you can go over to Beaches & Cream for one if you really are in need of a fix)

We went there for the first time last week. I loved this buffet. It had ribs and steak for the non seafood eaters. I loved the peel and eat shrimp. They are cooked in Old Bay seasoning and were awesome. The ribs were very good. The corn and potatoes were good as well as all of the salad items. We enjoyed this place a lot. I would definitely eat there again.

sorry i guess i am going to be the negative one here. we ate here last just before our illuminations cruise and i was so very dissapointed. the food really wasnt any better then any other buffet i have eaten at. guess i was expecting more because of what hotel it was in. food was ok, we didnt reallly have any complaints about quality, its just i cant say that nothing was great. in fact the dessert bar was a major dissapointment. the dessert bar at H&V was so much better. our waitress was awesome though!! she was so busy,seemed to be lacking a bus person so she had thse chores also. every time we asked for something she always returned promptly and was always pleasant.

service A++
food B

If no one in your group enjoys seafood I'd skip it. I love seafood! This buffet has a lot of shellfish. I don't remember if there was a smell, but I am guessing there would be because everything has a smell! There were other options however, I think you'd be better off patronizing one of the other gazillion restaurants in the area of your resort.

Are the clams fried? How is the seafood cooked? Thanks!

The crab legs are no longer offered either. My DD loved them but the CM told us they dropped them from the menu.

You can't even order crab legs for an extra charge anymore? Oh well... The Clambake is a must-do for our family on every trip. My brother is severely allergic to shellfish and he can tolerate the smell, atmosphere, etc. The food here is very, very good, especially for a buffet. We have never been disappointed.

The clams are not fried. The clams (small, cherrystones?) and mussels are steamed. There is shrimp (you have to peel) and scrod (or some type of fish). Lots of other good stuff that is not seafood. Try the oreo bon bons.

They have salmon too? Yay!!! Is the peel and eat shrimp served hot or cold? We are all looking forward to this buffet...we grew up on the Chesapeak Bay with tons of seafood...and suffer from lack of it here in Colorado!

I was at the clam back in Feb. cause it is an absolute must do every time we go to Disney. I just wanted to mention that we did order the Snow Crab for the extra 12.99. So as of about two months ago they were still doing the crab legs and they were still very good. :cool1:

SJU Guy;
Our family will be there on 6/22 at 5:30pm. Let's change our ADR and have dinner with our families together!!

Alright then, usually we try and make it a point to have at least one meal with someone we do not know. I will send you a private message with my phone number and our families can meet up for dinner. Just so you know my favorite item on the menu is, hmmm i guess it would be the clams. My favorite drink item on the menu would have to be the beer.

P.S. should you have any questions about actually getting together for a meal just look to your left and ask.... :rotfl2:
