I am planning on going to Cape May with my 2 girls (6 and 7) before heading to EPCOT on our last night at WDW. EPCOT has EMH (9-12) that night.

I can't decide if we should eat at 5:30 or 7 pm. We are coming from Wilderness lodge, I will probably get a taxi. I thought if we went at 7, we could rest after our time at MK that day and then go to dinner then to EPCOT to enjoy the late hours. Just not sure.

Your thoughts? My kids can stay up late but not sure how they will be feeling after a week at WDW.

THanks!

My vacation motto is: You can sleep at home! :lmao:

I'd book the 7 pm Cape May ressie and try to enjoy some of the Epcot EMH afterwards if the kids are up for it, and I'm willing to bet that they will be. I like booking dinners a bit later than we usually eat at home. We always take a park break in the middle of the day so that the kids can rest up for the evening activities.

We are worn out after a week at WDW, but it is a *good* tired. :goodvibes

We usually go when they first open - 5-ish or so because there is usually no wait and the buffet is not so busy and everything is super fresh - love it :thumbsup2

If you go at 7 then after dinner you can go out to the beach and roast marshmellows and maybe be there for the movie on the beach.

I would rest after your MK day, eat at 7 and then go into Epcot for Illuminations at 9 and EMH
Have Fun

I would pick earlier, you may be seated closer to your ADR time, then you can enjoy a nice dinner and then head to Epcot for the evening. Only you know your kids best. We always book CMC for right at opening, the lines for the buffet tend to start to back up. As we are leaving we notice the crowds in the lobby waiting to be seated and the line for food start to wind. That might not be how you want to end your vacation. Sorry for being to longwinded!!

I would go earlier if you usually have dinner earlier. I know my girls would not be happy waiting until 7 to eat. You could still enjoy evening EMH if your kids are up for it.

I would choose earlier to have a chance to walk off the food, so as to not feel so full at bedtime. Also if you are crab leg fans, it takes a while to eat them, so you will be at the restaurant for quite a while.

But I would choose a different place for dinner that night; not a buffet.

The last night of our vacation we cancelled an ADR at Garden Grill because we were so sick of eating so much food. We had a car so we went off site for a simple pizza and everyone was happy.

As early as you can...like others have said you don't have as much wait ot be seated or in like at the buffet...plus then you will have time to relax more at Epcot...

I can understand why you are torn between the 2 times. Especially if you are planning on being in the park really late. But I would also tend to go with the earlier ADR. As PPs have said, the later the ADR (at many of the buffets, but also at other popular TS spots) the greater the likelihood of having to wait considerably past your ADR time before you are seated.

You can still have a rest in your room before heading over to the BC, so the kiddos will still have energy left for a few hours at Epcot.
