Capacity/Unsold Units at SSR

With all the messages lately about the "Christmas present" billboard, it led me to ask how many units are they still working on selling and building at SSR? We didn't think to try to count buildings/rooms in the new sections and didn't know how many were still unsold. If anyone is down there and thinks to look, it might be interesting to see how much capacity they still have while people are talking about them building yet another DVC resort.

DVC really doesn't sell rooms even though your deed may say you own .246 of unit 46a. They have an alottment of points they sell based on Florida regulations and their own. I've ask how many points were available at a sold out resort, BWV, my guide told me 9000 points - which they must have repurchased over the years. SSR I'm guessing must have tons of points, but a guide would know once they tap in and see whats available for UY..Just guessing about this F&F promo, which is a great deal, it sounds like their trying to move some points because something else has to be around the corner. Let me ask the older owners.......When BCV and BWV became available for sale was the building even started yet?? If it wasn't this may be the answer to the billboard question....new resort!

Currently, all 12 buildings in Phases I and II are open. There are six more buildings under construction- to be completed sometime in 2007.

Each building has 20 Dedicated 2BR villas, 2 Grand Villas and 24 Lock-off 2BRs (comprised of 24 Studios and 24 1BR villas).

All of the completed units are not declared into DVC inventory at this time - they are being rented by Disney thru CRO. As sales continue, more units are added to the member inventory for reservations.

To my knowledge, no figures have been published regarding where they are in the sales process. I'd guess the full resort is less than 50% sold at this time (I'd expect sales to maybe be at 40% ?? ) Sales have been ongoing for about 29 months now and wouldn't expect the entire resort to be sold out for another 3+ years.

In the past only one resort was available for sale from 1991 - 1995. Once VB opened, there were 2 resorts being sold (diluting the sales effort) and in 1996 2 more resorts (HH and BWV) opened. Four resorts were being sold for a few years until OKW and BWV sold out and VWL opened. Once VWL, HH abd VB sold out, DVC had nothing to sell until they accepted pre-sales for BCV which quickly sold out and then SSR res-sales began in late summer 2004.

I would expect another resort to be in sales before SSR sells out, but no annoucements from DVC have been forthcoming yet.
