Hey there. I am really trying to get to Downtown Disney for this trip - never been. I was figuring booking an ADR at Capn Jacks. Anyone been and have any comments about it?
Thanks

Though it has been just about a year that we were at Cap'N Jacks I would say that it is probably not a restaurant I will repeat again soon. We have been to Raglan Road and WGP Express since and far preferred both of those to our meals there.

The Clam Chowder was okay nothing spectacular. I can find similar here at any restaurant.

Our entrees were fairly well cooked - Penne Pasta with Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Lump Blue Crab Cakes which I see are now advertised as just Lump Crab Cakes. But there was nothing really super about it.

The only seafood entree for children is Salmon. A Mahi-Mahi or Tilapia choice would have been nice and possibly a shrimp dish.

Hope this helps a bit. :)

Ugh. NO! Do NOT eat at this place. Nasty food, prepared badly and with poor service.

Unfortunately, there really aren't many decent choices at DTD any more.

The Cubano sandwich at Bongo's for lunch is ok. :confused3

I went there in 2002 and still can't bring myself to think about going back. House of Blues is good. Earl of Sandwich is good. Wolfgang Puck Express is good.

Though I appear to be alone in my opinion, we have eaten there on almost every trip. I find it to have a more diner like atmosphere than most disney sit down establishments, however the food has always been good, and the service has always been excellent, some of the best I've had in disney! Different strokes for different folks I guess!

im another that says go for it! We went on our last trip, the place was packed and they were turning away guests without ressies. we got seated fairly quickly and had a table by the water. The service was great and the food was good. i say good because its standard fare, nothing outrageous or unique. but i was very happy with eating there, and i have my ressie booked for september as well

We thought it was awful. The food was way below average and the service was not that great either. Now, this was about 4 years ago, and it was the only time we ever dined there, so it is possible it was just an off night. I have no intention on returning anytime soon though.

It's been several years since we ate there. We really didn't like it. Several of the dishes were overly greasy. Everything was flavorless. Service was poor. There are far better choices in the Marketplace/Downtown Disney area than this! ::MinnieMo

Oh gosh..... I am so torn. I really wanna hit Downtown Disney and was hoping for a decent meal. We are on the dining plan, so that's why I am wondering about CapN Jacks - there are not to many places to pick from on the DP.

Maybe we will just "wing it" and probably end up at McDonalds -I know the kids would be happy. lol :rotfl2:

I tried ADR's at Planet Hollywood, but with 19 days until vacation, they are all booked.

We have eaten there twice and LOVED it both times. I see a lot of bad reviews of this restaurant, but if it looks good to you, it's worth trying it. I wouldn't have gone had i seen these bad reviews prior, which would have been a shame, bc we really like it!
