The first night we arrive in April it will be late, but we want to stop by Epcot and see Illuminations. Is it possible to eat at Cantina de San Angel, have a few drinks, and watch the show from there? Anyone do this before? Just not sure how late it stays open and if there's an area to sit and eat and watch the show. Thanks for any advice!

many, many, many people do this...so many that you'd better get there way before Illuminations begins because all of those tables will be full - and people will keep drinking/eating to save the tables. We've walked past there more than an hour ahead & no tables empty.

:wizard: We were there in August and we had dinner at the Cantina and saw Illuminations. We were sure there wouldn't be any available tables, but there were a few. The only problem we had was that everyone eating there got up and stood by the railing so it was hard for us to see anything while seated.

Oh great! Thanks! I have been so many times, but never paid attention to the seating near Mexico. I'm excited and will be sure to get there early.

yea you better get their really early if you want to eat there and watch illuminations, I would suggest 1-2 hrs ahead of time.

this is one of our favorite things to do. we usually get our table by the water @ 7:45. plenty of time to eat and drink our magaritas in time to watch the fireworks @ 9. cantina is better and cheaper than the san angel! i was not impressed last dec.
have fun!
