I hate to hear that your plans are changing so drastically, but from the looks of it you guys will have a wonderful vacation no matter what. At least you will be together as a family! Like you said...so many aren't fortunate enough to have jobs and take any sort of vacation.

I will still be around following along with your plans for an October FLORIDA vacation. And I will be wishing for some pixiedust for some Disney magic for your trip!

This past week I have discovered just how wonderful the folks in our little Dis community are. Last week was such a terribly sad week for me. We had to cancel our Disney trip, and on top of that we had other personal issues going on that had both Brian and I feeling completley overtaken by everything. Besides the encouraging words I was getting on this thread, I had a couple of Disfriends who I "chatted" on FB with a few times last week. These conversations truly gave me the emotional legs I needed to stand on to survive last week.

Last night when I got home from work there was a package from Canada waiting for me on the kitchen counter. Our Disfriend Cheekypoppins had sent the kids and I a Disney care package!!! Can I just say up front that EVERYONE in our home was in the BEST mood last night after recieving this outpouring of Disney magic? Without even realizing it, Brian and I had tranferred our sadness and heaviness onto the kids. Our children hadn't been their normal happy selves until we got this bundle of JOY in the mail. Our dining room table was immediately overtaken with Disney creativity while dinner was being prepared:

I'm happy that you're in better spirits now and just remember this (from one of my fave Disney movies POLLYANNA) when ever things get tough you can always play the glad game,and if you're not sure what that is then you defginitely need to watch the movie HUGS N SQUISHES!!!

Oh Oopsi I have been off the boards the last week and I'm so sorry about the possible cancellation. It broke my heart when we had to cancel our 2012 Disney Vacation but I love that you are still planning a Florida trip because any time spent with those precious kiddos of yours. Aw, thanks Ruth! We have great kids that have a true appreciation for anything done for them.

Yes, the planner in me is going CRAZY with not being able to put anything concrete together yet, but yes~ it will be a great vacation with a little Disney magic sprinkled in here and there for good measure!

I Pollyanna!!! I love all the young Hailey Mills movies! She was just too precious! BTW~ Gabe has now successfully colored EVERY PAGE of his Toy Story coloring book! I think it was a hit!

I KNOW!!! I can't wait to see my bag too! Unfortunately, I will have to wait until the summer, but it will be SO WORTH the wait!!!!

Thank you so much for the kind words and for throwing that wonderful pixie dust our way! I am just so grateful for this community, because if I didn't have my disfriends to keep in touch with every day the sadness over the cancellation of the Disney part of the trip would have been even more unbearable! I love how we all go when we can and until we can go back we just hang out here and dream together!

Thought I would share some IRL stuff with you this fine Monday morning. Last week we had a little bit of snow. Since the roads were still very clear, school was not cancelled. HOWEVER~ that did not stop my children from playing in the powder BEFORE school...

It was quite cold, so the girls whimped out before Gabe did. He actually played out in it by himself for quite a while:

Last night we had a Super Bowl party at our church to attend. Jillian had gotten a cupcake decorating kit for Christmas, and has been into making delicous cupcake creations ever since. Cheeky shared a wonderful cupcake idea with us, and we decided to try it out for the Super Bowl party...

Chocolate Cupcakes with Whipped Oreo filling and Oreo Buttercream Frosting:

Jillian did these all on her own, and let me tell you...they were a BIG HIT! We had none left at the end of the night. Here are some of the rave reviews she got:

*I didn't know there would be filling in the middle. Those were SO GOOD!

*Best homemade cupcakes I have ever had!

*Jillian, you made those? They were so delicious!

She was very proud of herself, and had every right to be proud!

Brrrrrr! I don't miss snow at all! We were supposed to get some this Saturday night but turned out to be nothing. A few of my friends north of here in the mountains got a dusting.

Those cupcakes look soooooo good! Great job Jillian with making those. Thank goodness lunch is only a few more minutes away as my stomach is now growling.

Oh, and I started laying out a few things for this weekends trip! I'm so excited for our DIS meet.

Jillian will be so excited to get some help from you! She tried so hard to pipe the buttercream onto them, but her decorating kit is "juvenile" instead of professional grade and the crushed oreo kept clogging the tip. She just spread the buttercream on then used some storebought frosting to create a cute place to put the cookies on top. We did the best we could with what we had.
