Can't think of a cute title but I've got pics!!!

We are staying at ASMo in February--DH wants to try a hotel this time plus when DD8 and I were talking about it she said she wants to stay in a hotel "because of the trees...there's too many of them, plus when you have to go to the bathroom in the hotel you'd only have to take a couple of steps and not walk to it" LOL I almost died laughing!

I am so impressed too with you camping. I have never seen a tent that can have an air-conditioner. Maybe you can find one in Oct-Nov. when they mark them down.

WDW should have sent back those tent poles. Oh hindsight.

Glad you had a great trip, thanks for sharing, and I loved all your matching t-shirts.

You will love going that time of year. We have been to WDW twice, both times at NYE and the beginning of Jan. The weather was incredible both times (70-80's) and this year we only had 20 minutes of rain the entire trip. No humidity to speak of. A little suggestion for your family. We always get up early every day of our trip and get going. We are the in the initial rush when the parks open. Consequently, we get to go on practically every ride we want to by noon or 1:00. Then we eat lunch and head back to our room for some down time or pool time during the middle of the day when the parks are the busiest. We will normally go back to a park in the evening when it is starting to cool down and the crowds are thinning out. It makes for a more enjoyable trip. Our first trip to WDW we went for 8 days and we managed to see everything we wanted to in all 4 parks in that time with a solid plan. It can be done, you just want to avoid times when the parks are the busiest and the hottest. During the hottest times, it's good to catch one of the indoor venues for a show. You absolutely must go to Animal Kingdom on your next trip. It is amazing and not to be missed. The waterparks are also a blast. I grudgingly went to Blizzard Beach w/ my family this Jan. not expecting to like it. I had never been to a waterpark in my life, I'm 49 years old and not that in to water. I had so much fun, that I went back the next day. Your kids would love it. And you would love floating on the lazy river for 2-3 hours like I did. I loved your TR and your pictures. You really know how to set up a camping compound. It looked very inviting; I wished I were there with you.

I so enjoyed reading about your trip. I can't believe you camped with 5 kids in July! I also have 5 kids very close in age to yours - DS 14, DD 13,
DD 8, DS 8, DD 8! This will be the triplets first trip and while the older two have been before they were very young and barely remember it. We are getting 2 connecting rooms at All Stars Sports. I loved seeing the pictures and your kids in matching shirts. What I want to know is did your 14 year old enjoy it as much as your younger ones? We leave in 30 days, and we are driving the 14 hrs.

Thanks for sharing your trip and photos!

Lugging around the luggage wasn't a chore at all!! We loaded the truck the night before we left---We had 13 bags TOTAL--When we got to the airport we dumped it outside then each kid grabbed one to bring in the airport except DS15 who took 3 (1 rolling,2 duffel) then DH and I took 3--I should mention no bag was close to 50lbs so they were lightweight then we gave them to the airline and didn't move them anywhere after that because we used ME!

As for the AC we bought a product called the ACBOOT and it creates a window in your tent thru which can be used any regular window air conditioner and boy was it a lifesaver with all the humidity!

I never wouldve even guessed it possible to tent camp and take the airplane!! That is amazing, and definately has me going "hmmm, maybe..." ONLY IF I can figure out this a/c ACBOOT thing, if I can have a/c and an air mattress, I def. would consider Tent Camping... hmmmm THe FW Site was how much $39 night??

oh, thanks so much for sharing!

eta I "googled ACBOOT - - http://www.acboot.com/cart/index.html looks like I can buy a tent installed for $179!! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!!

LOL I clicked your link and had to laugh and let DH know that the ACBOOT people now sell tents with them already installed! When we got our ACBOOT we set it up on our own onto the tent!
Flying and camping was a blast and something we plan on doing again especially since it is incredibly cheap to camp at FW---We had a blast and didn't miss being in a hotel much at all!

As for the question about DS15---He hated Epcot except for Test Track, tolerated MK and loved MGM! I think next time I will let him go off on his own (this was our first time at WDW and there was no way I was going to let any kid out of my sight!) that way he can see what he wants and not be made to be part of the "kiddie stuff" (I don't know-I enjoyed the kiddie stuff) I do know that swimming was high on his list of must do's while we were there and he was kind of upset by it not being included on the itinerary every day! Next time I'm going to hand him the 2-way when we get there and say "Have at it"!
