Can't stack codes, but can I use one then the other?

I have a feeling I know the answer to this ?, but I'm going to ask anyway...

I know codes cannot be stacked. I currently have a AAA rate for Poly LVC for Aug 9-14. I am saving $92/night. I want to extend and split my stay until the 17th. Any chance I can use the AAA discount until the 13th and then use the free dining code paying rack rate for the remainder of my stay? Or do I have to make two reservations?

Having 2 isn't a big deal though. We've done it on almost every trip for a variety of reasons.

EEyorelover22, did you have any problem keeping the same room? We have two reservations next month, a package with dining for 3 nights and then 4 nights with AAA rate. I'd like to stay in the same room if possible.
