I have been debating whether or not to apply for the Disney Visa but have been unsuccessful in finding any kind of a "deal" like I have seen before.....you know free $25 for signing up etc.

In researching this it seems that there is a lot better than what I am getting on my current AMEX which is 1 percent of whatever.

Any suggestions for best cc deals....or a link to old post....thanks.

Here's a thread that discusses the merits of the Disney VISA:

MouseSavers.com also has a link on the homepage that will get you a $25 bonus for applying for the Disney VISA. There was a link for a $50 bonus but I believe that you had to apply for and use the card before 12/31/04 in order to get it.

Here's a link to a recent discussion regarding the best rewards credit card. As you'll see, it can be different for everyone.

The only caveat that I can give you is that whatever card that you choose, it should have no annual fee. There are too many rewards cards out there that offer no annual fee. You shouldn't have to pay for the privilege.

I saw a Citibank Rewards Card, gives you 5% back on gas, groceries and prescriptions and 1% on everything else. Rewards are limited to $300/yr (I think  ) and are paid in CASH!

Gotta love cash!

As they say, cash is king. However, I actually like having a non-cash reward. Its just psychological, but to me getting a check for $100 just doesn't seem as valuable as getting an item or service that cost $100. We use a Marriott Rewards Visa and I like being able to say we went to a hotel and the stay was free with our reward points. A check just gets deposited and blended in with all our other money so it doesn't seem so special anymore.

Just another way to look at things.

SECOND THIS ONE!!! We also have Amex Blue, Marriott, and Disney, but now only use this one (and we dumped Discover a year ago).

You don't have to wait until your "annual anniversary" either to get the $$. Just call when you have at earned at least $50, and the check's in the mail a few days later. An unexpected surprise -- We requested our check and with the check came a notice that said for the next 90 days we'll get 6% on gas, food, drugstore purchases (up from 5%) and 2% on everything else (up from 1%). GREAT CARD!! ACCEPTED EVERYWHERE!! NO ANNUAL FEE!!:flower1:

I applied for the Citibank one yesterday and was instantly approved.....its been nice getting Home Depot Gift Cards from AMEX but at $1 per $100 spent it was the same as the Disney Visa......I plan on paying that off and using Citibank for the cash.

Thanks.
