Can't Ride Anymore

Body wars started my downfall. Then star tours. I'm better now and ride everything at WDW. Those jerky vr boxes just are messy.

The Teacups, and pretty much anything with that kind of spin. I used to love spinning rides as a kid, but now (as an ancient 35 year old) my stomach can't tolerate them. I can actually remember being sad that my parents wouldn't ride the teacups with me when I was little (Grandpa went, though), but now I totally understand why. Thankfully there aren't many rides in WDW that fall into that category. I wimped out and did the green side of Mission Space last summer because I just wasn't sure how my stomach would behave. I rode it when it was brand new (before there even was a "less intense" side) and had no problems, but that was years ago.

I am exactly the same way. I used to love the Teacups and any other rides that are similar to that, but now I can't even look at them or my stomach starts hurting (I'm 41, but this has been going on for the last few years). My kids both still love them and thankfully they are at an age where they can go on them by themselves, but when they want a parent to go on with them, DH always has to step in and go. As for the other rides, I don't get queasy or sick on them, I can still handle them...except for ToT and it's not that I get queasy or sick on it, I just don't like the whole free fall feeling (I don't go on any sort of free fall ride ever whether it is Disney or not). With Mission Space I can only go on the tamer side, the other side is too much spinning for me...if the others want to go on the more intense side, I will sit outside and wait for them :goodvibes.

I have been having this problem since my late 20's, I am in my early 40's. I just get so sick and dizzy. I tried meds and it really doesn't help. I honestly feel worse when I take them. So I just do not ride any roller coasters, tea cups, Star Tours. It is just better that way and I do not feel like I am missing out. I am okay with it. This is one of the reasons we love Disney World so much, there are rides I can go on and enjoy without getting sick.

TEACUPS. I'm only 35 and haven't been able to do spin rides since my late 20's!

My DH will be so happy to hear he is not the only one! Star Tours did him in last time we were there. He always has had trouble with motion but it has gotten worse. Someone suggested cleaning his ears out.

At 58 no problems yet. Since I've lost weight and can fit into Universal's coaster I've become addicted to those as well.

If you really want a thrill, and really want to get thrown around like a MMA fighter, go on the rides at your local county or state fair! Half the thrill is knowing the ride was probably assembled in a rush by a drunk and disgruntled carny using an old leatherman and duct tape!

Yeah, I'm not big on the freefall rides myself. I never have liked that sensation--even as a kid I hated thinks like the rocking viking ship rides that give you the same feeling. I will go on TOT because my husband loves it and I appreciate everything up to the drop, but I would never say I enjoy the thrill part of the ride. Last year, hubby wanted to go twice in a row because the line was short and I said no, I needed a few hours to recover before doing it again.

I used to ride teacup type rides all the time growing up and later with our kids. Then after years of not riding any of them I rode the MK teacups and got really sick...................soo...I stay away now!

I am 50, and I think I am all done with Space Mountain. Like others have reported, it is just too rough on my back. Everything else is a joy, although I do limit Teacups to just one ride per trip. I only do that because it is a tradition that I ride it with my kids (now 18 and 15) -we have been riding it together as DW cheers us on since they were preschoolers.

I was going to do Space Mountain with the kids this trip, but have decided against it. They are old enough to go on it themselves so Mom & Dad can sit out! I may or may not do RnR. It will depend on how I am feeling that day.

I knew I shouldn't have gotten on tea cups, but my 5 year old begged and I regretted it as soon as his hands went on the wheel-thing. He was unknowingly merciless! I have a delicate system, so I already can't do the hard-core coasters like Space and RnR. I can do Star Tours only once. Older son goes on multiple times in a row--that would ruin me for the rest of the day, I think.
