Can't reserve savannah view with AKL concierge?

I have been researching the AKL concierge (and getting lots of help with those here ), and several things I have read state that you are not guaranteed a savannah view with the concierge. How can this be? Why would I want to pay so much more and not get the premo view? I'm sure the pool view is nice, but its not what you go to AKL for, right? Can anyone in the know fill me in on this? I'm about to change my whole trip around to go from 5 nights AKL standard to 3 nights CSR/3 nights AKL concierge, and now this is throwing a monkey wrench in the plan. Help!

The majority of the Concierge rooms are Savannah view rooms. There are about 9 that they call Pool/Water view rooms, but you are able to see the Savannah in the distance. The rest overlook the Arusha (sp) Trail. This info came from a Concierge CM at AKL.

I think you should be able to reserve a deluxe savannah view room and add concierge. You will be on the fourth rather than fifth floor (as was I), but even if you get a concierge room it might be on the fourth floor. When you get there, try asking for a move to the fifth floor which you will probably get if the room is sitting empty. As the concierge loung is on a balcony overlooking the lobby, a fourth floor room near the elevators might be more convenient than a fifth floor room a mile down the hall.
