Can't reach my travel agent!

I've got a huge trip planned for my family and our parents. I've been working with an agent because I didn't want to navigate everything by myself for 3 rooms of people. On August 18th I got my invoice / confirmation from her in the mail and there was an error where she had us arriving a day earlier than I had planned. Since then I've emailed 3 times and called and she still hasn't gotten back to me.
I guess my question is, does anyone know if I could just call Disney and start fixing the mistakes. All that's been made so far is the resort reservations, but having the extra $1500 sitting on my bill for so long is making me nervous.

You can not call Disney because you do not "own" the reservation. The travel agent does. Disney won't even talk to you about it much less make any changes.

Is your TA an independent or does she work for a company? Have you called the company and complained to a supervisor? Because no response in that amount of time is of NO excuse.

In the Internet age, there's really no reason to use a TA to book a Disney trip. I'd back it out and just handle it myself..

Agreed. You should be able to handle the booking yourself fairly easy - or at least with less stress than trying to reach the TA. Good luck!

Planning a Disney trip does take some effort, especially with 3 rooms full of people. But for the travel agent to not respond for so long is ridiculous. There's no way I'd continue to give her my business. How could you possibly trust her to get everything right if she already has something wrong, and is not answering your attempts to contact her?

I suggest contacting a supervisor/the agency she works for (assuming she isn't an independent TA working just for herself). Tell them what's happened, and that you want to cancel your trip through them, effective IMMEDIATELY.

Then, you can either find another travel agent, or you can take care of the reservations yourself. I prefer to be hands-on with my vacation planning, so I do it all myself. And yes, I've coordinated with friends and with my sister's family on Disney vacations before. It takes more effort, but it can be done... and this way, you know it's done RIGHT.

Good luck!

When are you traveling? If you have time, I would find another travel agent that is responsive. We book ourselves for Disney, but for all our other travel our TA responds within an hour or two ALWAYS. Vacation planning can be stressful enough without having to chase someone that is getting paid to help you.

If there is not enough time, call the company and speak to a supervisor. Especially if you are inside the 45 day window since now there could be fees associated with the changed to the reservation. TA is a service industry. If your not getting the best service possible, then it's time to move on.

I agree on the backing out and doing it yourself. I can't imagine the stress of booking it yourself would be any more than dealing with a TA who doesn't respond to you. Then again, that's just me.

Hope you have a great trip.

Definitely cancel and find another. I tried using a popular agency that sponsors another well known Disney website, and got nothing but late responses, stall tactics and excuses (despite not actually needing much from her. Not even ADRs!). In the end the trip went fine, but I went through a lot of stress dealing with that agent. I wish I had contacted the owner and demanded a new agent or just found a new company altogether. I definitely think you need to bypass your agent at this point and contact the owner to cancel.
