In my previous thread about adding on, one of the replies indicated that DVC members are not allowed at SAB unless they are BCV owners. One of the reasons I bought at BWV is to be able to access this incredible pool for my boys. Is this true?

My understanding is that you have to show proof you are staying at BC or BCV to get into SAB. I don't know if that's year round, or just during peak busy times. We stayed at BC in 1997 and had to show our hotel ID every time we went to SAB. I hope for your sake that they make exceptions!

Hello: As I understand, you must be a current registered guest at the BCV to use SAB. Just being a BCV DVC owner is not enough.

Yes it is true. You don't have to be a owner at BCV, but you do have to be a guest of the BCV, or Y&BC.

Before the BCV were built it was nice for BWV owners being so close that you could head over to SAB without a problem. We would always go over at least once per trip. Now we stay at the BCV for at least a couple of days to take advantage of SAB since we can't pool hop there any more.

Yes it is true. Pool hopping to SAB is prohibited now. The only way to swim at SAB now is to stay at BCV, or the Yacht/Beach Club.

There are two pools that DVC members can't pool hoop to, and they are SAB at the BCV and also at The Animal Kingdom Lodge.

And if you go during High volume times like Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, July 4th....Pool hopping is usually suspended during these times for ALL pools...

Several pools are off limits. These include all pools at BC, YC and AKL. As well as certain times when the program is suspended (as noted above). There is also the rule that you must call ahead and check though they could close the pool while you were on the way over and you'd be turned away.

I am a BCV owner. ::yes::

When I stayed at OKW last summer I could not pool hop at SAB. I could pool hop to all other resorts expect AKL.

August of 2004, I will be staying at BCV, so I will have full use of SAB. I can also pool hop elsewhere with the exception of AKL. Although, I can tell you I like SAB so much, I'll spend all of my time there. If SSR does not have restrictions, I am sure my kids will like to try that pool once.

FYI -- The restriction on SAB (and all pools at Y&B) went into effect with the opening of the BCV. It was decided that the increase in guests from BCV was all that SAB could handle. AKL has never been part of the pool hopping program. They also stress, as Doug mentioned, that even BCV owners are not permitted to use the pools unless they are actually staying at BCV (or as Yacht Club or Beach Club guests).

There is speculation that is not yet supported by facts or official references, that one of the reasons a slide is being built at OKW is that pool hopping will be discontinued in the future.

I hope this is not true and that pool hopping will be allowed at SSR.

You also cannot pool hop to Dunes Cove, the quiet pool for BCV.
