Can't Plan for Baby? Better Plan for Disney! -- PTR

That is WAAAAY too much math for me! :lmao:

I agree! I'm thankful that I don't have to do that much math because it's pretty much guaranteed that I would mess something up...took an arts degree for a reason :rolleyes1

The AP upgrade sounds like it might work out for you though :thumbsup2...if we both could get park admission on one AP I would totally upgrade, but since that's not the case (as far as I know) there's really no point in upgrading for us...if I did the math correctly :lmao:

Great job with the research! I'm impressed! I hate math myself but I love budgeting and the math involved with trip planning. Annual pass is a great idea, then you can sneak off to Disney for free...or at least one of you can. hehe

I've always relied on the Disney transportation system so I never thought about how much parking costs. If you guys think you'll save enough on food, what a savings that would be with one vehicle and an AP! And of course an AP is a great excuse to go back.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay:
I am so happy for you!!! :)
I remember you going through infertility when we were both writing our 2010 TR's.
I went through infertility issues and had my beautiful twins via IVF.
I started reading this PTR today & was reliving your pain with you.
I was estatic to read that you are now expecting!!!!
This morning I also read on the Today website that Bill & Giuliana Rancic announced they are expecting a baby.
So, that's two wonderful baby news that I've read today!!!

You're planning is going great, even if your math in the previous post completely confused me!

Again, I am sooooo excited for you!!!!!!! :dance3:

I think your math is looking pretty impressive. :thumbsup2 I know that a lot of people even when staying on site prefer driving.. those rental prices though...:scared1: With TIW, also remember that it is off of adult drinks too.. so that is a plus..if you drink.

I can't believe you are so close to your second trimester all ready!!! A quarter of the way there!!! How are you feeling?

That is WAAAAY too much math for me! :lmao:

Good luck figuring it out!

Ha!! I think it is too much for my DH as wwell. II was explaining this alll to hm and he said, "Let's just stay on-site and use the DDP."

I agree! I'm thankful that I don't have to do that much math because it's pretty much guaranteed that I would mess something up...took an arts degree for a reason :rolleyes1

Yes, the AP idea may work out! And it would also save us money on MNSSHP, which is a definite plus.

I know! The only math I like is budgeting math!

I know! I am sure that having an annnual pass would tempt us to go back within the year. I have already committed to a trip in Dec 2014 with DH's family, though, and 3 times in 14 months seems a bit excessive.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay::yay:

Thanks! I can't believe how big your two are getting. I saw the G & B thing as well!! They are so cute togethher and after all the heartbreak, it seems like they will get a happy ending!!

Will #10 and #11 be 2 or under? If so, I bet they don't count them in the TIW program!

Yes, #10 and #11 will be 2.5 years and 11 months. I hope they don't count! I will have to call and make sure, though.

I wish we drank, just because I love discounts :rotfl2: and I want that drink in aa pneapple @ Ohanna. Maybe they can make me somethng non-alcoholic and put it in there.

I am so glad that I am close! I haven't been feeling well. I have had a good couple of days on Sun and Mon, but now I have a cold. I am hoping that once I am done with this cold, the morning sickness will be completely gone and I can DIS without falling asleep or wanting to puke when seeing food-- or even the inside of a restaurant for that matter. Ha! =)

Oh man... I forget how tired early pregnancy makes you!!! Now that you mention it, I remember... with my last pregnancy I took naps EVERY day.

I hope you feel better soon. :goodvibes

Hope you are feeling better soon. Morning sickness is the worst! (but also great because it means there's a baby!)

What a wonderful happy trip report, I love the picture of the two of you with the baby sign in front of the castle. Congratulations!

first of all, you're precious. your family is precious. and your sweet little still-baking baby will be precious.

second of all, if you get the annual pass, that person would also get discounts in stores/buying other people's tickets. I think it's 15% off for the base passes? and if you got that person's pass ahead of time, you might be able to use it to purchase additional tickets!

Woohoo sorry I missed so much - I love your Disney math post!!

WOW to the price of rentals - i hope we never need a minivan. Yikes!! I'd DEFINITELY say a shuttle to Sixt would be worth that savings. Have you looked at expedia.ca ?? I got a really good rate through there, even vs. the regular Expedia site. Sixt was the next closest in terms of rental rates.

As far as your Disney math, don't forget that you could get slightly cheaper AP's through the UT site, and with the mousesavers link you'd save an additional $3 or so. If anyone is in the military/DoD in your group, you could save even more by getting one of those (that's what I'm doing - it's about $506).

You asked what sort of diapers I use. I love the all-in-ones (AIO) but way too expensive to start off with newborn ones and then get one sizer's, so we have 8 thirsties covers & 48 pre-folds in x-small, which still fit Aria really well and she's over 12 lbs. She's finally big enough for 1 brand of AIO's though - Sunbabies - which are awesome.

I started off getting bumgenious and fuzzibunz - at over $20 PER DIAPER it was ridiculous. She fits in them though, but I went searching for alternatives. Ended up with about 24 Sunbabies and 16 Babyland. I hate the stupid babyland's but mainly just because they don't have leg snaps so she doesn't fit in them yet. I'm considering buying another 12 Sunbabies just bc I like them so much, and the more I have the less often I have to do laundry!! LOL. Daycare will use them too - which was a huuuuge thing - it was so hard to find a daycare that was willing to use cloth. We are down to laundering diapers 2x/week which is so nice - when we were just using the pre-folds it was every 2 days. That gets tiring, esp with going back to work. I look forward to no more pre-folds, but will definitely use them again for the next baby.

We did some math and I think we spent around $450 on all the diapers we have - 8 covers, 48 prefolds, 12 heavy prefolds (essential for overnight!!), and 43 AIO diapers. Over the course of Aria's diapering (assuming she is potty trained at 2) we'd have spent about 2500+ on diapers. BONUS we get to use the same diapers next time around! :thumbsup2

The only thing I regret is being wayyy too excited about the AIO's and purchasing them really really early (I think I started buying them while we were still trying...LOL) and so I only got neutral colors (including blue's bc I love blues). No pinks, purples, etc. So now I'm hankering to buy more just so we have some more girly colors LOL.

::Butting in:: I LOVE Sunbabies! The women who makes them was always so nice- unfortunately when I wanted them she wasn't taking any more orders.

We use Fuzzibuns pocket diapers- and I LOVE them. I buy the perfect size, and use mediums. I figure for our next baby (if we're blessed with a second) we'll use prefolds up to 13-15 lb's before babe can fit in them, DD fit in a medium at 4 months/13lb's.

I prefer pockets to AIO's because I can add hemp liners for overnight. I've tried Thirsties and Bumkins as well, and just wasn't a fan, though I do want to get an Apple Cheeks and a Charlie Banana and see if we prefer those.

We have about 25 Fuzzibuns Pockets. If you check out Go Go Naturals, Meredith often has a Fuzzibuns overstock sale for $11.95- and she's local in Chandler so you can pick them up to avoid shipping- and support local small business, win win!

Sorry I misspoke - we use pockets too. They are just so much more "all in one" than the pre-folds that I consder them AIO's. But yes the inserts come out, for easy washing, or for doubling up or whatnot. We haven't used them overnight yet, since the thicker pre-folds are still working great for that right now, and she should be able to fit in the x-small covers for another 2+ months (I think it says 5-15 lbs? and she's still under 13 lbs).

Where were you buying them that they weren't taking any more orders?? Sunbabydiapers.com? Or from ebay? My first order was from ebay but then I just went through the website. I've been delaying buying another dozen (only $60!!) because I wish they offered the size 1 (smaller one meant for tall/skinny babies) in pink!! Grr.

From the sun babies website. This was last summer, and her backlog was so long she suspended orders from her site. I have many friends that are super happy with their sun babies!

Thanks for the diaper information! So appreciated! I have never heard of Sunbabies but I will check them out!

Thanks for your thoughts as well! I understand the appeal of pockets.... Especially for washing and padding purposes!

So, check out my lack of ticker on the right!

That's right! We are no longer having a Nov 2012 baby. We went to the Dr a couple of days after I posted my last batch of repliess, about three weeks ago. They couldn't find a heartbeart. We spent the last few weeks mourning the
loss and trying everything to get my body to let go. We tried herbs, the prescription meds, but nothing worked.

I ended up having to have a D and C last week, and I am doing much better physically and emotionally. This just proves the title of my PTR. I will be back with a Feb 2011 trip update soon (I wrote an update before I found out and haven't had a chance to post it yet), as well as the results of some conversations with hubby and my sister's family regarding the Oct 2013 trip. Stay tuned!

No words can express, Paula. :sad1: I am so very very sorry. I thought you were out of the woods. All your pg symptoms seemed so strong... :sad1:

My heart is breaking for you.:hug:

I just found your TR through another TR and I read the whole thing, going through such a range of emotions. I can't believe your last post. So so sorry to hear that news. :(
