We are taking our first trip with our daughters, ages 5 & 9, from Sept. 13-19, and want some ideas for the can't miss restaurants/character dining.

Thanks for any tips and ideas

our 2 favourites that we do every trip are Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. We also love 1900 Park Fare. Breakfast and dinner are great at all of these places! :)

KONA!!!! Its our favorite!

We love Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree for a character meal!

AND...we love the castle. The food isnt our favorite, but there is something special about being in the castle and meeting Cinderella in her castle. We try to pretend we wont eat there, and then always end up working it in.

:welcome: Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace at MK, and Liberty tree tavern at MK are all good choices.i see your trip is Sept.Call and book asap because alot of the character dining books fast.

I would say Princess Storybook Dining at the Akershus in EPCOT. My girls ages 7 and 11 love this breakfast, and cannot wait to do it again in August.

Cape May breakfast buffet at the Beach Club is awesome :cool1: :cool1:. The characters are dressed in beach wear and the food is great :goodvibes.

I once met a WDW CM who was the food & beverage manager of 3 of the 4 parks, and I asked her the very best place to eat in all of WDW in her opinion.

She said it was hands down Chef Mickey's for food quality & environment. :)

I have never been, but obviously it's a clear favorite on the Disboards!

My personal favorites: Cinderella's Royal Table (just because it's amazing to be in the castle), Liberty Tree Tavern for the food & characters, Garden Grille for the food & characters & best customer service in the world. :goodvibes

I second Princess Story Book at Akershus...DD6 loved it. Smaller restaurant so the princesses were available for more interaction. And this year a photo is included.

If you think your girls will like to get character signatures you can't go wrong with the character buffets. My nieces were 5 and 8 when we took a family trip with all of the in-laws. This was their first trip at the WDW and really liked most places we ate during the trip. The one place I hear they want to return to on their next trip was the Sci Fi Diner at the old MGM Studios.

You can find menus on allearsnet.com and wdwinfo.com to get a good idea of what each place offers. Will you be on one of the dining plans or paying out of pocket? Breakfasts and Lunches are usually a bit cheaper than dinners. A few fun places are Chef Mickey's, Sci Fi Diner and 50's Prime Time.

A few tricks I learned while traveling with the nieces at WDW in 2007.
* If your girls like yellow mustard, keep a few in your purse/pack. There are some table service places that only have grey poupon which you wouldn't expect and no yellow mustard. The castle and Ohana's are two of them.
* If your girls are collecting signatures and already have that signature you may want to put the book away if eating at a character dinner. Both nieces didn't want duplicate signatures and the characters are just so used to signing the books if they see them.
* Remember to feed and water them regularly. I know it sounds odd but there's a lot of walking and it's easy to forget. We had quite a few occations we fogot to get them a snack midmorning and they drooped. As soon as they had lunch they were ready to go again.

Have fun planning!

Princess Storybook Dining at the Akershus in EPCOT, also if they like Little Einsteins and JOJO, then Play and Dine at Hollywood and Vine at Studios is fund and good for breakfast, they sing and dance songs from Mickey Mouse Club House. Crystal Palace is a favorite of ours as well as LTT both of these are good for all ages.

Our favorite breakfast by far was Crystal Palace at MK! We had an 8:05 ressie so we could get into MK before opening...it was great to take pictures on a basically empty Main Street USA!!!!!!! And the food was wonderful! Great character interaction, too...We saw Piglet, Tigger, Pooh, and Eeyore.

For character meals, we love Crystal Palace for breakfast with Pooh and friends and the puffed french toast. We've done Chef Mickey's and it is good too. We are trying Cape May Cafe for the first time this year for breakfast with Minnie, Goofy, etc. We have not done Ohana's since it was Minnie's Menehue Character breakfast because we are not big Stitch fans. For lunches or dinners, we love LeCellier, Biergarten, The Plaza Restaurant and Mama Melrose. We also have enjoyed 50's Prime Time and Sci-Fi in the past (but it has probably been about ten years since we've been at either one of them.

Our family loves the Liberty tree and Crystal Palace, they both are great

CP for Breakfast is pretty much the best around.

One that Is really a good one for dinner that people don't talk a whole lot about is 1900 Park Fare, it's really good.

Breakfast or lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table with the Princesses -- pricey but priceless!

We also like the Lilo & Stitch breakfast at Ohana.

For character meals we love breakfast at O'hanas and dinner at LTT. Both are a lot of fun and the food is good.
