Not one of the snobs but with the main pool closed the smaller pools will be fuller. We have been told that we can "Pool Hop", anywhere which I never have done before. Any suggestions for some older ladies on where to go for a little quieter?

Yes I double checked they said anywhere! Thoughts

Where are you staying?

Which pool is closed?

And do you have a car? Since it's not that easy to get from resort to resort on the Disney transportation.

I know parts of stormalong bay will be closed (not all at once) coming up soon. If you are at BCV, I don't think I would go to the trouble of pool-hopping somewhere that involved a lot of transportation. I believe they open up the BWV clown pool for your use; that would be an easy trip on the boat or just a walk. I don't know if there is any resort pool I'd go to the trouble of getting on a bus for.

I love to pool hop. :goodvibes

If you are a group of ladies w/no kids - I'd suggest the GF. It's not the most exciting pool in the world for kids, but it's quiet and elegant (great pool chairs BTW) and the grounds are lovely.

Coranado Springs, IMHO, has the best pool of any moderate (and one of the best at Disney) - with nice grounds including a lake ringed with hammocks. Add to that the incredible experience of Pepper Market for lunch or dinner and it's a winner.

I'm guessing that you are actually not allowed in SAB or UZIMA, as they've never allowed that even with pool closures - but if so, Uzima is also a nice, quiet pool with lots of comfortable pool chairs, nearby CS/mug refill, and savanna viewing areas nearby.

All three of those pools have changing/shower areas at the pool. I do not recommend SAB for hopping (even if it is allowed) because there are no shower/changing rooms unless you go in the fitness area - and that's really awkward, especially for a group.

Adding to my previous post - pool hopping can be a great way to relax and enjoy the non-park side of WDW. Most of the resorts are a destination unto themselves, and there's plenty to enjoy with the bonus of being able to try out a new pool.

A couple of things to consider:

1. Convenient bathrooms/shower/locker area - some pools are better than others. When hopping, you want a nice place to change into and out of your swimsuit.

2. Plentiful pool chairs. If you're hopping, the last thing you want is to have to scavenge for chairs.

3. A nice eatery - it's always nice to mix pool hopping with lunch, and (again) some resorts have better food choices than others.

4. A good pool bar if you are going to be taking advantage of the adult beverages.

5. Other extras - some of the pools have great playgrounds nearby, you can go cane pole fishing next to the pool at POR Riverside, some offer watercraft rentals, some have hot tubs that are more seculded and adult than others. Some offer more pool games for kids. Zero-entry is a make-it or break-it pool feature for me. With a little planning, a pool hopping afternoon can be a blast.

My least favorite pools for hopping are the POLY (weird shower set up and sparse pool chairs) and BWV (no easy mug refills or CS/sparse pool chairs around the pool) . My favorites are CSR and the combo of POR FQ and RS.
I have not hopped to OKW, but I would because it's a great pool with a very good pool bar and sufficient CS for pool lounging.

If you are at SSR, it is easy to get the boat to Key West. Their main pool is a short walk from the boat dock.
