No, it's still there. The ride itself, other then the montage, really hasn't changed all that much.Did they take out that alien that lowers down out of the ceiling?

So you really want to teach your kids all about irrational fears? Seems like you wouldn't want that for them. But, it's your business, just seems wrong to me.Oh okay. good deal....the girl from the Exorcist still gives me nightmares and I cannot erase those images from my head. Wanted to make sure my kiddos were not going to have to endure that lol.
If you just force yourself to listen to the song over and over again it will wear off. Face those irrational fears!!!I used to love the Great Movie Ride, but it had been a while since we were there last and the latest update now includes Tubular Bells, the theme from The Exorcist. The hair stood up on my arms and back of my neck and I had some trouble falling asleep that night. (I'm a weenie, I know).
I don't think I can go back in and hear that again which is sad because I absolutely love the Wizard of Oz portion.![]()
The Exorcist is not an image just the music. Again you can watch it on YouTubeUghh! I totally understand! That movie is seriously one of my biggest fears - I am such a big baby when it comes to anything that has to do with that movie. I can't even type the title name lol that's how bad it is!! Do they show her in the montage clips at the end?? I'll still ride it, as I love TGMR.. but oh my goodness that movie has haunted me for YEARS!
Oh and I have never been to HHN's at Universal, but when I heard that they were doing a house with "that movie" I literally wanted to cry, because now I will never go as long as that is there! Haha!!! I could never do that walk through.. EVER!![]()
Thanks! The music definitely does not bother me, that I can deal with. Wondering if the montage had changed when I went in November, because I don't remember the music at all in the montage, but I do remember it being different than before. I probably didn't even notice it lol.The Exorcist is not an image just the music. Again you can watch it on YouTube
I grew up in the 70s and that song was on the radio often. I'm going to be 50 soon so I dont think it's going to wear off. Poltergeist I can handle, Chainsaw I can handle, Alien I can handle just not that movie or the theme for some reason. Even the theme from Halloween doesn't get me like that.If you just force yourself to listen to the song over and over again it will wear off. Face those irrational fears!!!
Not really sure how you came to that conclusion from what I said but I can assure you my comment was just a lighthearted one and not meant to classify my entire realm of parenting. And just so you know I don't believe my lack of wanting to expose my kids to an image of a demon possessed child shouting profanities and spewing pea soup vomit means that I am teaching them to fear irrational things. I am sorry if that is the conclusion you came to from my commentSo you really want to teach your kids all about irrational fears? Seems like you wouldn't want that for them. I associate just about every moment in my life with a piece of music.I can't imagine linking such a great piece of music with something so scary so strongly that you can't listen to it.
Maybe you need to find a nicer link for it. See if you can catch footage from the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony. It was used beautifully there for our tribute to the NHS. Much nicer thing to link it to! And cute children jumping and dancing might make it less scary for you.

OK, but that is not the way you put it across. To me it just seemed like you were afraid of it and felt that you should protect your kids from that fear. If it's to shield them from useless gore and unlikely and offensive content then you are OK in my eyes. Sorry, if I misunderstood your comment. Not really sure how you came to that conclusion from what I said but I can assure you my comment was just a lighthearted one and not meant to classify my entire realm of parenting. NOooooo LOL. That section of the opening ceremonies was absolutely bizarre and creepy.
As for having a visceral reaction to music like the OP has...the theme music Jaws anyone?
Interesting trivia: The first time I ever watched Jaws was when our English teacher put it on, of all of the things we could have watched. When Jaws claimed his first victim I screamed and ran out of the classroom. Still love the movie.
