Can't get BWV when we want it

We tried booking a 2 bedroom at BWV for Dec and can't get it. We were told we could waitlist. We're owners at SSR, but prefer to stay at the Boardwalk area. Anyone know what our chances are of getting BWV in early Dec?

There really is no way to tell. It will all depend on how deep the waitlist is, where you are on it and how many people cancel. December is a very popular time at DVC properties. I would definitely book something elsewhere (while keeping yourself on the waitlist) just in case.

If you just called then I think you will be down a ways on the waitlist. You will need lots of luck for the waitlist to get to you, so you need a back-up plan. Good luck!

As others have mentioned, waitlists for the first 2 weeks of December are really tough. Last year, I went for 12 days starting Dec 3rd or 4th (I think). I was booking a 1 BR and wanted to try BCV & BWV. At 11 months, I booked AKV and had to waitlist for 1 night in the middle.

At 7 months, I was still waitlisted, but tried to switch to BCV & BWV. I ended up booking BWV for 1 night and then SSR & OKW for the remaining nights. I then had about every waitlist combination for BCV and BWV that you could imagine. By about the 4 to 5 month mark, I was checking my waitlist status at least twice a day and about 3 months I started calling MS. I was able to cobble together a trip that was BWV for 4 nights, SSR for 2 nights and then BCV for 5 nights. I was updating my reservation piece by piece up until about a week before the trip started.

This year, I was able to book all 11 nights at Kidani in a 1 BR at the 11 month mark.

That's a very popular time for BWV. I booked it at 9:00am at 11 months.

I tried for several years waitlisting the first week in December at BWV. After never getting a reservation, I purchased an add on for points there. It is an extremely difficult time of year, and one of the most popular for DVC.

Sounds familiar! We also are SSR owners and want to spend are time at BWV. I wait listed at are 11 month window. We have a Grand villa at SSR just in case. We initially booked the Grand for are whole family as a surprise but they surprised us when they said they booked at are usual BWV. So we are in patiently waiting for it to come through. going to change are Grand to a 2 beedroom on Monday and have my litttle brother and his family stay with us, and if it comes through we have a 2 bedroom at BWV. This is the first year that we have had trouble staying at BWV in December. We have never stayed at SSR yet so I will take it no matter what because we are at DISNEY! Ok this sounds familer . We are currently booked for SSR for Dec 6th 5 nights but we are on 2 waitlists for AKV/BWV. I was told on one of my many phone calls that with me wanting 5 nights on my waitlist I will not get my waitlist. That person suggested me divide my waitlist up. Put one for 2 nights (12/6-7) and the other one for 3 nights (12/8-10). At this time I haven't done that due to AKL/BWV's are my favorate resorts. I now see that there is a good chance these waitlists will not come through . Oh well at least we have reservations for this time frame and we are going to WDW. We haven't used been to WDW for 5 years.

I wish I could be more positive but unfortunately we were in the same situation last year and even though we waitlisted for a 2BR right at the 7 month window it never came through. We had a great time at SSR though and it all worked out in the end. I think besides being a really popular DVC time there just aren't as many 2BR as some of the other units so they're harder to come by. This year we called right at the 7 month mark and were able to switch our 1BR to BLT no problem. Good luck - sometimes you never know!

OP here. We're satisfied - we're not on any waitlist now. Our first 4 nights are at SSR and the last 5 at the Boardwalk. Both are 2 bedroom units. Thanks for the replies & suggestions. DH & I haven't been in 6 years!! We are going with our older DS and his wife to celebrate our son's 30th (egad!) birthday.

Question: will they move our luggage from SSR to BWV?
