No one I know ever has. Maybe a fellow Disboards member can help.

Toying with ordering the in room service for breakfast at AKL. Looking at prob a 6am delivery time. Has anyone ever done this? If so, was it prompt and was it good? Thanks!

I've never ordered room service at AKL. I have, however, ordered room service at the Poly. It was good and came pretty fast.

We've ordered room service a lot of time.
Just not breakfast at AKL
What I ordered was great.
It's from the same kitchens as the rest of the restaurants, so I was not disappointed. Service was quick too, since it came right from the same resort, not elsewhere.

We have room service on every visit. In the past we most frequently ordered after returning from MK at 1 or 2 am at GF when they had 24 hour room service and MK choices are limited late night. We have not done breakfast because we stay club level and eat breakfast in the lounge. We have had always had excellent service and food and have ordered from GF, Cont, Poly, BC and BWI.

We were there last week and ordered dinner room service one night at AKL. It was good. My DD loved her steak. We didn’t try breakfast, sorry. They told us an hour, but it was like 20 minutes. We were surprised it was so quick.

We've ordered room service at other deluxe resorts (never stayed at AKL...looking forward to it this summer!), usually for breakfast. What I have found works best is placing our order the night before. When doing this, they will offer a 15 minute delivery window. I have found 95% of the time the food arrives right at the beginning of our "window" (a few times at the CR it's even arrived 5-10 minutes early). I've never had food arrive later than the requested delivery time. I'd recommend giving it a try!

I ordered breakfast and dinner during my February stay. It was delivered exactly on time, exactly as ordered. For dinner, I wasn't sure what I wanted, and spent 5 minutes talking over options.

Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine watching giraffes was fabulous.

We did a breakfast like this once at AKL. It was ... fine. Unless it's really a long walk, it was much less hassle to just send me down as a food runner and walk it back.

I've done it at numerous resorts and have done it for breakfast just not at AKL. I've had success doing the door hanger thing the night before and calling. The earlier you call the faster it is going to get to you.

That is actually the only other WDW resort we stay at these days...so thanks! May try there when on a future trip.

Oh so happy to get some positive feedback! Thanks!! We are going to try it for our (super) early morning out day.

Excellent! Thank you. I need to re-check and see the exact hours for AKL... I think they begin at 6am, which is close to the time we are looking to have it arrive.

That is exactly what I was hoping to do. We need to eat close to 6am, but I think they only start room service at 6. So maybe if we are lucky, and order the night before, it will arrive around 6:15.

Do people typically place the order by the in room phone, or go down to the main lobby CMs?

That last line about sitting on the balcony is exactly what I am looking forward to, only mine will be at 6am so I guess I'll substitute a cappuccino for that glass of wine!

Yeah, I am more of just go and get it person as well. But apparently they don't serve any hot breakfast items at the AKL counter service until after 6:30am, and we need to be up and out by 6:45.

Sounds like a really good plan! Thanks!!
