Indulge me, what is a "fruit store" - a produce market??

My guess is Apple. I've heard absolutely terrible things about what it is like to work at the one near me. Because they pay a bit better than average and are the dream job of basically every Millennial working retail they can be extremely inflexible and still not face high turnover rates.

If that's the case then the OP is going to have to just decide what her priorities are. She knows the deal and as much as I feel for her dealing with such inflexible policies, she needs to move on if that won't work for her.
