Can't edit my post

When I attempt to edit my post, I get linked to this
http://www.disboards.com/spellcheck/spch.js
and get an error message saying that "spellcheck/spch.js is not available on this server."
Why is the edit button linked directly to the spellcheck?

is the link which is activated when the "edit" button is clicked.
But it immediately jumps to the spellcheck link and gives the URL error message.

this only occurs with Netscape. When I use IE, it seems to work correctly. Why would clicking on a button cause a different link with Netscape than with IE?

Good detective work there Carl. This is an interesting problem and I haven't seen anyone else mention it before. What version of Netscape are you having the problem with?

One thing that you can give different results is that Netscape and IE don't always interpret HTML code the same way. HTML has a long set of commands and some work in both Netscape and IE, some work only in Netscape, some work only in IE and some work only in one version of Netscape or IE but not in another version. To overcome some of this problem, it is possible, when you hit a button on a page, for a web page developer to check what browser you are using and what version of the browser your have and perform different funtions according to the results. Seems that maybe there is a little glitch in the edit function when it detects Netscape and the version that you are using.

this happens to me too - I use Netscape 4.76, I also have IE but for some reason countdown timers don't display when I use IE - so if your trying to edit a countdown timer it;s pretty darn inpossible!

I have been dealing with this for a week and no one seems to know why. I also discovered the link issue Carl mentioned and I have 3 different versions of Netscape so I really don't think it has something to do with the version. I think Bob is on to something.
