Can't decide which park to do twice!

We will be at WDW in August for 7 days. We have MK planned for 3 days (arrival, mid week and last) and Epcot, HS and AK one day each. Which leaves us with one day left but we can't decide if we should do Epcot or HS for a second day. In the past we would just choose the day of, but with FP+ I feel like I have to choose now!
I know Epcot is bigger but has such a limited selection of FP to choose from. We would only need the one for Soarin', everything else would just be throwaway ones until I could try to get a 4th for test Track.
HS is also tiered but I think has a larger selection of FP that we would actually use.
So should I book FP for HS and just cancel them if we decide to go to EP instead? If we do decide to do EP what are my chances the 3rd week of August for getting Soarin the morning of?
This is our first trip with FP+ and I feel like I have no freedom to just wing it! I'm sure it'll be fine once we are there but I'm not used to planning more than just what park to go to on each day!

I think you could potentially still wait until you are at WDW to decide which park to visit for that undecided day...yes, it does seem like more and more now, you have to plan ahead for each day with FP+, but I went in December and was just selecting FP+ on the MDE app on my phone each day we were there; I don't think I really reserved any of them before my trip. I had a great time and was able to get most of the rides I wanted for FP...but then again, I'm really not that particular about it and don't care to plan out all my days around FP+. It sounds like from what you described, if you want to make sure you choose the park for that day beforehand, DHS seems like the best bet. Or, if you really want to make sure you do Soarin' and for some reason can't on the Epcot day, then you could pick Epcot again for that 7th day...just a thought. Good luck :thumbsup2

I have little girls so we do MK twice but this time since Epcot is so big we are doing one day for just the world showcase and one day for the other things.

I would recommend Epcot as there is lots to see there, even without FP's. There are all the buildings to explore in World Showcase - they all have their own ride or movie or show to see, as well as restaurants and little stores to shop in. All are great. I can spend an afternoon just watching Off Kilter in Canada and British Invasion in UK - keep going back and forth as each set is different. One of my most favorite things ever to do!

I'd book FPs for the park you think you'll want, then change them later if you change your mind.

You'll get tons of conflicting advice about which park people recommend, but only your family can decide which park they like best. Personally, I'd pick a second day at AK, but that's just me.

No park hopper I am assuming? Well do MK 2.5 times - beginning, last and a half day mid-week. We do Epcot 2 times and DHS 1.5 times - sharing the half day with MK. We've never done AK more than one day per trip.

With your schedule, I'd probably do Epcot twice. We think DHS has more rides that we enjoy, but Epcot is more time consuming to take in all the countries in the World Showcase.

I would keep that day open for a last minute decision and based it on the park you feel you left the most unseen. That could be the park that rained you out one day, or the park you ended up only doing half a day because everyone was tired or could just be the one you loved the most and want to re-do stuff. Whatever the reason, I always find it nice to have one day left for a last minute choice.

That being said, I probably would book some FP+ for the park you think it most likely the one you'll want and then you can always just change them if you end up choosing differently.

I would agree to leave your day open but book the fast passes as a back up. Then if the weather does not cooperate you can go back to that park or just revisit the one you liked or missed the most of.

However personally I would make my choices between Epcot and AK. My family had very little interest in ever visiting HS twice in one trip.
