Wow! Very, very sad..

I too don't post on the cricut boards and only rarely go over and look because I have noticed they get their feathers ruffled so quickly..

I too will be waiting and only buying later on... a must.... solutions..won't buy them because as Mischief_Managed said they are over priced...

It's ashame though from what I've read through AWM's extensive work that PC is blaming everyone but themselves.... it's always easy to blame someone else when you are at fault.. it's something I tell me kids... the best and most important thing to do.. it be accountable and learn from this and be upfront...because YOU meaning PC are actually supplying a product that they are actually being deceptive on in this matter...and the retailer should NOT have to photoshop out the missing items but instead should be supplied w/ the correct photos from the parent organization...

Well, I really didn't expect PC to do anything aside from what they did.

I hadn't really studied the cart yet - I think the lack of shadows stinks! I didn't realize even the letters don't have it. You're right about this being a solutions cart in regular clothing.

Have fun with SCAL, AWM! Once you get going with it, you will love it.

Paid for a full cart that acts like a solutions cart. Kinda like going on a forced diet.

I boycott the solution carts because I think they are overpriced (aren't they all), so you are right that this cart is a solution cart in regular clothing.

I'm disappointed that there are missing images, and no shadows (there are no shadows on Lyrical Letters either, BTW), but having used it a lot last weekend, it's a *really* cool cartridge. Would I have rather paid $40 than $50ish? Sure, but I will use it, and I will continue to buy carts; however; not until I am able to study the PDFs in their library. Makes me angry that they won't take responsibility for it and do a recall, reminds me a lot of the Project 365 mess. Very disappointed in PC.

There was a post on 2 peas with a link to a blog that had a scathing letter to Provo Craft. It was a GREAT letter, but now I can't find the post. Maybe one of you with younger eyes can. It was worth repeating.

Sports mania is packed with great stuff! It is sad that I paid more for Beach than Sports Mania I do like the things that are on the cart -- I just want the shadows and layers.

Okay - first make sure that the button for "title words" is back lite. Second feature button, at top left.

Then choose the image that is on the same page as the title you want. Say you want "splash". You would press the dolphin button.

Make sure your size and pressure and speed are set and then press cut.

talk to me about SCAL. is it a computer thing?

SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) is a software program that lets you hook up your Cricut to your computer, and cut any truetype font (the vast majority of fonts on a computer are this type) with the Cricut. You can also cut image files, although that is a bit more complicated. Having this has totally eliminated the need for me to buy any more font cartridges. I absolutely love it!

I went to get the DS trial so I could upgrade my firmware - little bug had 1.0 and E had 2.0 and I needed at least 1.1 or 2.1. The stupid DS upgraded my firmware to 1.32 and 2.32.

I can't even use the SCAL if I bought it.


They sent me a different DS to try, but I'm running VISTA 64-bit and it won't work on my laptop.


I think I officially strongly dislike Provo Craft.

Are you sure? I can use SCAL and I have the latest firmware updates..I;ll double check. DH just updated everything within the last few weeks.

My firmware is 2.32 on the expression. When I hit cut in SCAL, it tells me I have to have version 2.1 or 2.3, but I have had version 2.32 for everything I've done recently and have had no problems. My DH is not especially computer savvy and has had no problems with updating or installing these products.

S'all greek (snort, or geek) to me, but apparently we have 64-bit. When I called to transfer DS to my laptop, they told me that it now worked with 64-bit, and it does, I used it last weekend.

If you don't get through to them, you can always try it by downloading the free trial version of SCAL first. That will cut with the lines through it, but if it works, you know the pay-version will work too.
