Just returned from a wonderful week with Mickey...We did not have dining plan, but included 4 ADR meals in our visit (along with some counter service here and there). All food was wonderful as usual. However, noticed that we (family of 6 = 2 adults, DS11 DD8 DS6 and DS1) were automatically charged 18% gratuity since we were a "party of 6 or more". I usually overtip anyway, but just wondering about the fairness of Disney to take 18% tip even though the 6th diner was a non-paying infant? I did not want to cause any issues during our meals, so we just let it ride, but now that I am home, it just doesn't sound very fair? No, cannot change anything now, just seems odd to me...It bugged me the most at two of the ADR's that were buffet and we paid 18% tip simply for a couple of beverage deliveries for the most part....:confused3:confused3:confused3 Not trying to be overpicky, just venting a bit, I guess.

I personally think it's ridiculous if the 6th person was a baby. I would have said something and wouldn't have been as nice as you were. I am a very good tipper, but the auto-gratuity thing always bugs me.

tipping discussion is limited to the one sticky thread at the top of the board

Disney policy is very clear on this, a set gratuity of 18% for a party of 6. A party consists of the warm bodies at the table regardless of age or consumption. Sorry!
